04-05-1962 Special Meeting
SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the City Council, called by
Council Chairman William Boyd, was held in the Administration
Building on Thursday, April 5, 1962.
The meeting was called to order at approximately 6:00 P.M.
by Chairman Boyd, with all Council members present with the ex-
ception of Mr. Turville. Mayor BonJorn, Clerk Johnson and City
Attorney Morse, were also present.
Chairman Boyd stated that the meeting had been called for
the purpose of considering the recommendations of the Zoning
Commission as contained in the their letter of April 2, 1962.
A general discussion followed, and City Attorney Morse was
asked for a legal opinion on the subject. Mr. Morse advised. the
Council that the only manner in which the rules and/or regulations
of the Zoning Ordinance could be changed, was by holding a public
hearing on the suggested changes, and that the Zoning Commission
should first hold hearings and make recommendations to the Council
before the Council hearings are held.
Motion was made by Mr. York, seconded by Mr. Pool and carried,
that the Chairman appoint all members of the Council and the Mayor
as a Committee to make a study of the recommendations of the Zoning
Commission, as contained in their letter dated April 2, 1962.
Chairman Boyd appointed all Council members and Mayor BonJorn
to a Committee, as moved.
Motion by Mr. York, seconded by Mr. Pool and carried, that
meeting adjourn.
