WE, the undersigned members of the City Council of the City
of Clermont, hereby waive notice of a Special meeting of the
City of Clermont to be held at 9:50 P. M., Tuesday, A ril I
1960 and consent to the transaction of such bus$nessp as 9,

SPECIAL MEETING
Chairman G. Y. Middleton called the Special meeting to order
at 9:50 P. M., April 19, 1960. All Council members were 'present
with the exception of Mr. John York.
Mr. Roe, chairman of the Water Committee, recommended that the
city employ a superintendent of Water Department; thfit such
superintendent be in full and complete charge of the "Water Department
of the City of Clermont, subject on1.y to the orders and direction
of the eity Council. Mr. Roe further recommended that one pick
up truck, now owned by the city, be turned over to the Water
Department and that one standard size truck, now owned by the city,
be equipped with a supply bOdy and turned over to the Water
Department. Mr. Roe further recommended that the Water Department
personnel consist of a superintendent and one assistant and that
when add it ional man power is needed by the Water Department that
the Superintendent s of the Water Department and the Streets and
Sanitation Departments cooperate in the exchange of labor as well
as in the use of mutually operated equipment. Mr. Roe recommended
that the Superintendent of Water Department be paid a starting
salary of $65.00 per week for a period of ninty days and that at
the expirat ion of that period the salary be increased to $75.00
per week, provided that the person serving in the capacity of
Superintendent meet s with the approval of the City Counc il.
Motion waS made by Mr. Christ,ensen, seconded by Mr. Bishop
and carried, that the recommendat ions of Mr. Roe be adopted
and that Mr. Roe be authorized to engage a Superintendent of
Water Department at the salary and under the conditions and
with the authority as recommended by Mr. Roe.

Mr. Roe recommended that the City Council purchase a new
two ton truck for the street s Department to replace the one
being turned over by it to the water Department, and that the
Clerk open bids on such a truck.
Chairman Middleton requested that bids be opened by the Clerk.
After the opening of bids, motion waS made by Roe, seconded by
Christensen a nd carried, that the low bid of $2,542.87, summitted
by R. H. "Razz II Bowen Ford Cp., be accepted and that the purchasing
Agent issue a purchase order for same.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, heretofore the City Council for and in behalf of the
City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, have retained the services,
at the request of the Tax Assessor of Hunnicutt &. Associates, Inc.
of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, to assist in assessing
and compiling records for t!1e Office of the Tax Asses80r for each
taxing year.
WHEREAS, the Tax Assessor for the City of Clermont has again
requested City Council to retain and otherwise employ the services
of Hunnicutt at Associates, Inc. in the as.easing and compiling of
taxing records for the year of 1960; and,
SAID Hunnicutt &. Associates, Inc. under date of March 15, 1960,
at the request of the Tax Assessor offered their services on the
basis of fees to be paid them in accordance with their letter of March
15, attached to this Resolution; and,
The City Council finding it to the best interest of the said Tax
A sees.or and the City of Clermont to again retain the services of
said Hunnicutt & Associates, Inc.; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont,
that the Tax Assessor of said city is hereby authorized and entitled
to retain the services of Hunnicutt &. Associates, lac. to assist in
the assessing of all property in the City for the year of 1960 for
, the use and guidance and information of said Tax Assessor in pre-
paring the 1960 Assessment Roll, with fees for such services per-
formed for and in behalf of said Tax Assessor, this Council and
the City of Clermont to be in accordance with the letter of March
15, 1960, addressed to the City Clerk of said City hereto attached
and made a part thereof.

Dear Mr. Johnson:
We respectfully submit hereunder, our proposal to perform the
1960 assessment maintenance work for the information, guidance, and ul!Ie
of the City Tax Ass.SllOr in preparing the 1959 Clermont Assessment Roll.
We propose to bandle this work on the usual cost plus basis, with
an outside or limited price of ONE THOUSAND ($1,000. 00) DOLLARS. That
is to lIay, we will handle the work for Direct (actual) Costi plus Indirect
(overhead or administrath'e expense) Cost, to be computed at fifteen (15~)
percent of the Direct Cost and Profit to be computed at twenty (20") percent
of the Direct and Indirect Cost; the total cost to the City not to exceed ONE
THOUSAND ($1, 000. 00) DOLLARS.
The work to be performed under this proposal will consist of the
following :
1. Revise the land assessment maps to show property ownership
boundaries a. existed on January 1, 1960.
2. Revise the land assell8ment maps to show all new subdivisions
which are to be entered on the 1960 City Tax Roll.
3. Maintain the land assessment maps to show the late.t land
units as may be determined by our appraisers.
4. Inspect, appraise, and complete property record cards for all
new buildings which are to appear on ~'_g 1960 City Tax Roll.

5. Inspect, re-appraise, and correct property record forms of
any and all dructures which have had 8Ubstantial alteratio.s,
additions, or repairs made durinl the year 1959.
6. Appraise the business per8OlL&l property of all new business

January I, 1960, should obtain a building permit, and from
said permit, prepare and maintain an a811eBsment roll file.
