REGULAR MEETING
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont
was held at the City Hall Tuesday September 18,1956
The meeting was called to order by Council President Harold Turvi11e
at ?;30 P.M. with all members present.
Others present were Mayor Boyd,City Attorney Irving Morse,Supt Sheldon
-'Mrs Moore DeSota St wanted to know if the City had objection for the
Episcopal Church could hp1d rummage sale with out license .
motion by Meeker Sec by Grant that City clerk grant this request,
Motion carried.

Jim Mc Donald wanted to know
car lot on Lot 4 Block 111.
He was instructed to have a pertition signed by residence in this
vicinity if any objection would be raised and return results to City
Council for further instructions.
if he could opperate a Bus Station & used
Mr.Koester of the Amaco Gas Station called the Councils attention to
a bi11sent to him for Personal Property tax for the year 56-5? in
the amount of 20.00 also a de1iquent bill for the Year 55-56 in the
amonnt of 25.44,which he claims that he did not owe and that thAt
should be sent to Mr Preston Maynard.The council agreed that he should
be responsible for only the portion of the year,It was then agreed to
send the bill to Me, Preston Maynard.
In the mean time Mr.Maynard came in to the Council room and President
Turvi11e explained to him what had taken place by Mr.Koester and he
stated that he did not have any dealings with Mr.Koester and bill
should be sent tQ William Brooks who was at the station at the ti~
of this transaction and Council ageeed to send bill to W.Brooks.
Mr.Blease Cole wanted the Council to explain why he was required to
put into his new residence a 100 Amp service when others in the same
locality used on1yn60 Amps the council explained to him that they wede
in before the new Bode and that the City' could not require them to
change, but under the new Code every one was to follow same and
the Code would not ohange and he was advised to see that the Electrician
followed the new Code.
Mr Preston Maynard complained to the City Council that his water bill
for Apartments was very excesive ant he did not think he should be
made to pay for something that he did not think was right, the members
of Council agreed with him and stated as it was to long a time after
meter was read to see if some leak prevailed but told him that the
City clerk would make reasonable adjustment, they also explained to
him that if he would put'in seperate meters it would be easy to find
where the fault laid which he agreed to do.
Motion by Meeker Sec by Jenson that City clerk get prices on cabinet
to file Maps & Blue prints in so that same can properly be preserved ~

Hanks Electric Co ,Motion Carried. ~
Motion by Meeker Sec by Beals that the Mil1iage for year 195? be the
same as last year,10~ for operating and 5~ for Bond debt, Motion Carried
Motion by Jensen Sec by Grant that budget for 195? be addopted as
approved,Motion Carried.
