08-16-1956 Special Meeting
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING
..
The city Council of the City of Clermont, sitting as
a Board of Equilization to hear any and all complaints
relative to assessments of the 1956 tax roll, met at
the city hall Thursday evening, August 16, 1956.
The meeting was called to order at ':30 P. M. by
Chairman Harold Turville wity the following members
present: Turville, Beals and Jensen. Absent: Grant.
Mr. Meeker arrived a few minutes before the meeting
adjourned.
Those making verbal complaints were Mr. Howard Nooney,
Mr. Lucas, Mozelle Darity and S. Darity.
The complaint of Mr. Mooney was referred to Tax assessor
Stanley for further study. The complaint s of I'1ozelle
Darity and S. Darity were declared without foundation
and. adjustment denied. The complaint of I"ir. Lucas was
considered and it was decided that his complaint was justified
and that the valuation on his property should remain the
same as for the past year.
Letters were received from American sign Company and
the valuation was reduced to 80% of their declaerd value
0", $4,100.00.
Letter received from Mr. Charles Croizer and it was decided
that Mr. Croizer was misinformed regarding increase of last
year and that no adjustment was warranted.
Letter received from Mrs. Edith Tracksel stating that she
should not pay Business Personal property inasmuch as her
houses were rented unfurnished and it was decided to removed
personal property in her name from the roll.
Letter received from Mr. George Huceneek, repre.sented )
by attorney William Lee by telephone and valuation was
reduced to 200.00.
Verbal request to City Clerk by Attorney Lee for reduction
of Florida Towers Inc. valuation denied.
Letter from Fred Wolfe requesting reduction referred to
Tax Assessor Sranley for further study.
Motion by Jensen, seconded by Beals that meeting adjourn.
