An Adj ourned meeting of the City Council of the City of
Clermont was held at the city hall, Monday, September 26,
1955.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Council
President, E. G. Winston, with all council members present.
Others present were Mayor Boyd, Supt. Sheldon and Tax
assessor Stanley.
Chairman Winston stated that the council would sit as a
Board of equalization to consider applications for assessed
valuations on certain properties which Tax Assessor Stanley
had been requested to rech~ck.
The following reductions were made:
Howard Mooney-home- reduced from $12,200.00 to $10,960.00.
Ralph Snyder-home- reduced from $13,010.00 to $11,890.00.
John Boyette- parcel numbers 1075 to 1085, incl. from
$1,570.00 to $1,270.00. Parcel numbers 1091 to 1105, incl.
from '2,640.00 to $2,040.00. Parcel numbers 1108 to 1129,
incl. from $4,490.00 to $3,870.00.
o. H. Keene-home- error found, and corrected in land
measurement.
Chairman stated that the business of the Boardt of Equalization
being completed, the City Council would now meet in regular
session to consider the 1955-56 fiscal budget.
After considerable discussion regarding the proposed budget
it was determined that the proposed necessary expenditures
exceeded the anticipated income by approximately $9,000.00.
After discussiDg variouS methods of rais1ng the anticipated
$9,000.00 deficit, motion was made by Olivenbaum that the
following Water & Garbage rates become effEkctive November
1, 1955: A minimum charge of $3.50 for the first two thousand
gallons, . 25~ per one thousand gallons for the next eight
thousand. gallons and. .15~ per one thousand gallons thereafter.
It is anticipated that this increase in rates will raise
the necessary $9,000.00 needed. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Grant and carried with Mr. Beals voting nay.
Motion by Kons1er, seconded by Olivenbaum that meeting adjourn.
