09-22-1955 Special Meeting BOARD OF EQUALIZATION ,~ -,., A meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont, sitt ing as a Board of Equalization, was held at the city hall, Thursday, September 22, 1955. / at 7:30 P. M. The meeting was called to order by Chairman E. G. Winston with all member s of the Counc il pre sent. Requests for reconsideration or reductions of, or in, valuations were presented by the fol1mwing tax payers: O. H. Keene, R. W. Ferris, Mrs. John Boyette, Howard Doland (representing Watson Grove Service) Howard Mooney, D. H. Moore, Ralph Harper (Harper Motor Company), Mr. T. C. Cork, Sr. representing Mrs. Louisa Barr, Mrs. Frank Bennett and Mrs. Riddell, Ralph S~der, Mrs. Etheridge and letters from Edmond Amateis, Harry A. Geyer, Mrs. Edna LaVeigne, S. T. Phillips, J. A. Brackman representing Mr. A. T. Booher, Mr. Fred Wolfe and Kurfis Funeral Home. Motion was made by Kons1er, seconded by 01ivenbaum and carried that the valuation on Kurfis Funeral Home be reduced to $12,500.00. Motion by Kons1er, seconded by Grant and carried that the valuation on lots 15Q17~19, Block 85, be reduced to the same value as other lot s on the north sid.e of the block. Motion by 01ivenbaum, seconded by Beals and carried that the Business Personal Property valuation of Harper Motor Company be reduced to #7,200.00; the amount reported by Harper Motor Co. Motion by Grant, Seconded by Kons1er and carried that the Business Personal Property valuation of Moore's Plumbing and Heating be reduced to $l,gOO.OO. Motion Konsler, seconded by Beals and carried that lots 189-190-191 208-209-210-211-212-21~-230-231-232-233-234-235-244-283-284, all in Clermont Heights, be reduced ;[n valuation (for tax purposes) to two dollars per front foot. Tax Assessor fihSbley was requ~sted to recheck, and report to the Council next Tuesday evening, on the following properties: O. H. Keene, R. W. Ferris, Mrs. John Boyette, Watson Grove Service, ij~~ard Mooney, and Ralph Snyder. The Board of Equalization could not find any grounds for reductions in the valuations of the fOllowing: Mrs. Louisa Barr, Mrs. Margarte Riddell, Mrs. Etheridg, Mr. A. T. Booher, S. T. Phillips, Harry Geyers, Mrs. Mrs. Edna LaVeigne. Clerk Johnson was requested to contact Mrs. Frank Bennett and explain the valuation situation on Personal Property Tax and determine if she then thought she should have a reduction. Tax Assessor Stanley was requested to contact Mrs. John Boyette and go over valuations with her, regarding her property.
