MR. BARNES APPEARED BEF'ORE THE COUNCIL AND ASKED THAT THE CITY SATISV A
JUDGEMENT AGAINST'HIM IN THE AMOUNT OF'$81.4S.
MOTION BY KONSLE!!" SECONDED BY SICKLER, THAT TE CITY EXECUTE A SATISFACTION
OF JUDGEMENT IN THE AMOUNT or $81.45 AGAINST W. i. BARNES. MOTION CARRIED.
THE GROUPS OF LADIES PRESENT WE INVITED TO ASKED IF THEY HAD BUSINESS WITH
THE COUNCIL AND IF SO TO STATE THEIR BUSINESS. MRS. ROGERS AND MRS. HATCHER
WERE THE PRINCIPAL SPEAKERS F'OR THE GROUPE AND STATED THAT THEY VERY MUCH
WANTED THE USE OF THE COMKINITY BUILDING IN WHICH TO HOLD DANCING CLASSES
DURING THE WINTER'SEASON BUT THAT THEY WERE OF THE OPINION THAT THS SIX
DOLLARS PER DAY RENTAL PLACED ON THE BUILDING AT A PREVIOUS MEETING VAS
ENTIRELY TOO HIGH. A GENREAL DISCUSSION OF THE MATTER F'OLLOWED.
MR. WINSTON MOVED THAT THE ROYAL DANCING SCHOOL BE ALLOWED THE USE OF
THE COMMUNITY BUILDING ONE DAY PER WEEK F'OR A CHARGE OF $).00 PER DAY.
THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BV MR. SICKLER AND CARRIED.
CLERK JOHNSON READ A PROPOSAL F'OR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MONTROSE STREET
FROM EAST AVENUE WESTWARD FORA DISTANCE OF 160 FEET FROM ~BY & STIMSON

MoTION BY WINSTON,' SECONDED BV SICKLER, THAT CITY ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH &fJlBV & STIMPSON CoNSTRUCTION CO., F'OR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ~NTROSE
STREET FROM EAST AVENUE WESTWARD FOR A DISTANCE OF 160 FEET AT A PRICE OF

CAR LOAD OF 6" CLASS 150 TRANSITE PIPE. MoTION CARRIED.
THE COST OF THf PIPE COVEAED IN THIS MOTION TO BE INCLUDED IN, AND PAID
FROM NEXT YEARS BUDGET. .
~TION BV MEEKER SECONDED SICKLER THAT THE CITV PURCHASE 500' OF
12" CEMENT PIPE to BE USED' AS UTILITY TUNNELS'UNDER STATE ROAD SO.
MoTION CARRIED. THE COST OF THE PIPE COVERED IN THIS MOTION TO BE
INCLUDED IN, AND PAID FROM, NEXT YEARS BUDGET.
MR. WINSTON.RECOMMENDED THAT A LIGHT BE PLACED ON THE TOP OF THE WATER
TANK AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION. NO ACTION TAKEN.
MR. WINSTON RECOMMENDED AND MOVED THAT THE CITY ENGAGE A TERMITE'"
EXTERMINATOR TO MAKE AN INSPECTION OF THE CITY HALL AND IF TERMITES ARE
F'OUND TO OFFER A CONTRACT PRICE FOR THE EXTERMINATION OF SAME. THE MOTION
WAS SECONDED BY MEEKER AND CARRIED.
MR. WINSTON RECOMMESDED THAT THE BASE BALL STADIUM BE COMPLETED WITH
SEATS. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN ON THIS MATTER AS IT WAS DECIDED THAT ANY
EXPENSES ON' THE BASEBALL STADIUM SHOULD COME FROM NEXT VEARS BUDGET.
MR. KONSLER.RECOMMENDED'AND MOVEO THAT A STREET LIGHT BE INSTALLED AT THE
INTERSECTION OF PALM LANE AND DESOTA STREETS. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BY
MR. SICKLER AND CARRIED.
BLERK JOHNSON READ AN APPLICATION FROM MRS. GERALD KIMBALL FOR PERMISSION
TO USE LOTS 17 & 18, BLOCK 8, SUNSET HEIGHTS, FOR THE PARKING OF TRAILERS
FOR LIVING PURPOSES. THE ~~~CfTION WAS DENVED.

CARRIED. MR. SICKLER THEN MOVED THAT THE RULES BE WAIVED AND THAT THE ORDINANCE
BE READ THE SECOND TIME BY TITLE ONLY. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BY MR. MEEKER
AND WHEN PUT TO A VOTE WNANAMOUSLY CARRIED~ AFTER THE SECOND READING MR.
KONSLER MOVED THAT THE RULES BE FURTHER WAIVED AND'tHAT THE ORDINANCE BE READ
THE THIRD TIME AND PLACED UPON ITS PASSAGE. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BV MR.
SICKLER AND WHEN PUT TO A VOTE UNANAMOUSLY CARRIED. THEREUPON THE ORDINANCE

CITY OF CLERMCNf RELATING TO THE ZGUNG OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT, CHANGING THE ZONES OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF CLERMO-rr; AND OTHER
MATTERS RELATING THERETO.

WHEREAS, the City,Council of the City of Clermont did, in
accordance with Sections 20 and 21 of Ordinance No. 48, the Zoning
Ordinance, cause a notice to be published in The Clermont Press, a
newspaper published in the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida,
in the issu~of August 13 and 20, 1953, which read as follows:

YOU, and each of you, are hereby notified that on
~ September 1953 at 7:00 P.M. in the City Hall in the City
of Clermont, the City Council of the City of Clermont will
consider and act upon a proposed amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Clermont, the same- being Ordinance
No. 48, changing the Zone of the following described property
in the City of Clermont, Florida, to-wit:
(a) From a R-lA Single Family District to a B-2
Multiple Family District:
All lots in Oak View Subdivision, a subdivision
in the City of Clermont, according to 'plat thexeof
duly filed fox record on June 4, 1953, and :recoxded

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont did, in
accoxdance with the foregoing notice, meet in the City Hall of the
City of Clermont at 7:00 P.M. on the~~day of sept~rnber, A.D., 1953,
and duly considered the proposed amend~nts to the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Clermont, the same being Oxdinance No. 48, and heard
all those present, if any there were; and, the said City Council of the
City of Clermont did, at its adjourned regular meeting on Tuesday,
Septembex 15th, further consider said proposed amendments to the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Clermont; and,
~HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont is of the
unanimous opinion that such amendments to said Zoning Ordinance should
be made; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMCNT.
LAKE COONTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That all lands lying within the following described
premises, being within the city limits of the City of Clermont, Lake
County, Florida, and shown on the Zoning Map of the City of Clerm~nt
to be located in R-lA Single Family District be re-zoned, re-districted
and placed in a R-2 Multiple Family District, to~wit:
All lots in Oak View Subdivision, a subdivision in the
City of Clermont, according to plat thereof duly filed
for record on June 4, 1953, and recorded in Plat Book 12,
page 59, public records of Lake County, Florida.
Section 2: That paragraph 15 of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 48
be amended to read as follows:

adding an additional paragraph thereto to be numbered 14 and to read

Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith or inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
S@ction 51 This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its passage and appro~ by the Mayor.
