09-09-1953 Special Meeting SPECIAL MEETING ..~ ~ A SPECIAL MEETING'OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF' CLE:RMONT WAS HELD AT THE CITY HALL, SEPTEMBER 9, L9S', F'OR THE PURPOSE OF' CONSIDERING AND ACTING UPON CERTAIN PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO ORDINACE 48. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY COUNCIL PRE:SIDENT'ARTHUR GEORGE AT 7:'0 p. M. WITH THE F'OLLOWING COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: GEORGE, MEEKER, KONSLER. MR. WINSTON ARRIVED LATER IN THE EVENING. MR. SICKLER WAS ABSENT. NO OBJECTIONS TO THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO ORDINANCE 48 WERE REGISTERED AND THE COUNCIL. THEREFORE, ACCEPTED THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS AND ORDERED THAT THEY BE OFFERED AT THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING. THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS CONCERNING THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AND REOPENED WITH THE COUNCIL SITTING AS A BOARD OF' EQUALAZATION TO CONSIDER REQUESTS FOR REDUCTIONS IN ASSESSED VALUATIONS or CERTAIN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY. ALL REQUESTS WERE CAREFULLY CONSIDERED AND IT WAS THE UNANAMOUS OP'NION OF THE MEMBERS or THE BOARD OF' EQUALIZATIOY THAT NONE SHOULD BE LOWERED.
