A REGULAR MEETING or THE CITY COUNCIL or THE CITY or CLERMONT WAS HELD AT THE CITY HALL
AUGUST 4 ,L953.
THE MEETtNG WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT ARTHUR GEORGE AT 1:30 P. M. WITH
ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT. OTHERS PRESENT WERE MAYOR HIGBY, SUPT. SHELDON, ATTORNEY
MORSE, MR. W. H. MCQUISTION AND HOWARD YOUNG.
THE READING or THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING HELD July 2L, L953
WERE READ AND APPROVED.
MR. SHELDON INFORMED THE COUNCIL THAT THE STREET GARBAGE CANS WERE IN NEED OF NEW
GARBAGE HOLDERS AND THAT HE WOULD REcOMMEND THAT INSTEAD OF PURCHASING NEW BAGS
WHICH WERE QUITE EXPENSIVE AND LASTED ONLY A SHORT WHIL~1 THAT METAL CANS BE '
PLACED INSIDE THE HOLOERS. MR. SHELDON WAS INSTRUCTED TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER
OF CANS NECESSARY, THE SIZE AND THE COST AND TO REPORT BACK AT THE NEXT MEETING.
MOTION BY WINSTON SECONDED BY SICKLER THAT ORDINANCE 48 BE AMENDED AND THAT
OAK VIEW SUBD,DV,&,ON BE CHANGED FROM lN R.IA AREA TO AN R.2. MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION BY WINSTON... SECONDED BY MEEKERfI THAT THE CITY TAKE OUT MEMBERSHIPS FOR
EACH MEMBER OF TH~ ZONONG COMMISSION AT A TOTAL COST NOT TO EXCEED $20.00
MOTION CARRIED. '

SIGNS FROM LYLE AIGNS INCORPORATED AT A COST or $1.10 EACH AND THE NECESSARY

MR. MEEKER READ A BID FROM RAY JAY PAVING COMPANY FOR SAND.SEAGING CITY STREETS.
THE MATTER WAS TABLED UNTIL ADDITIONAL BIDS WERE RECEIVED. '
MR. SICKLER REPORTED THAT HE WOULD REPORT ON THE ESTIMATED COST FOR LIGHTS
AT THE CITY TENNIS COURT AND MAKE~RECOMMENDATIONS AT THE NEXT MEETING.
MR. WINSTON READ A LETTER FROM MR.S MEISLAHNI REQUESTING THAT A LARGE OAK
TREE IN FRONT OF HER HOUSE BE TRIMMED OR REMOVED. MR. WINSTON MOVED
THAT'/THE NECESSARY LIMBS BE REMOVED FROM THE TREE! OR THAT THE TREE BE REMOVED
IF NECESSARY. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BY MR. KONS ER AND CARRIED.
MAVOR HIQBV SUBMITTED THE POLICE CHIEF REPORT. THE REPORT WAS READ, ACCEPTED AND
ORDERED FILED.
MAVOR HIGBY RECOMMENDED THAT THE CITY PURCHASE SEAT COVERS FOR THE POLICE CAR.
MOTION WAS MADE BY KONSLERL SECONDED BY ,MEEKER AND CARRIED THAT MAYOR HIGBY BE
AUTHORIZED TO PURCHASE SEAT COVERS FOR THE POLICE CAR.
CITY ATTORNEY MBRSE REPORTED ON THE PROGRESS OF COLLECTING SID~ALK REPAIR
ACCOUNTS.
CLERK JOHNSON ASKED THE COUNCIL TO CANCEL THE FOLLOWING LISTED PERSONAL
PROPERTY TAXES AS UNCOLLECTABLE.
