REGULAR MEETING
The regular meeting of the city Council of the City of Clermont
called for Tuesday, .November 4,' 1952, was adjourned until
Thursday; November 6, 1952, by T. C. Cork, Jr. due to a
quorum not being present.

THE Regular adjourned meeting of the city council of tho oity
of Clermont was held at .the City Hall, November 6, 1952~
Tho meeting was called to order by President T. C. Cork, Jr.,
at 7:30 P. M. with all members present. Oth~rs being present
were :Mayor Higby, Supt. Sheldon and Ur. Don MoCaffrey.
The minutes of the adjourned meeting held October 21, 1952
were read and approved.
Clerk Johnson read a letter from Mr. S. A. Berkowitz, of the
Florida State Board of Health, wherein it was strongly reconunended
that the city use a hypochlorinator at the new well.
M:otion by Meeker, seoonded by Winston that the oity purohase
the same type hypooholorinator for the new well whioh they
are now using at the other well. Motion carried.
Mr. George recommended and moved that the first parking
space on the East side of Eighth Street and adjacent"to
Montrose street be restricted to five minute parking. The motion
was seconded by Winston and oarried.
Clerk Johnson was instructed to write to Brodie-Edwards and
inf'orm that that the city was not satisfied with the pl'lesent
rad.io service o1i.arges being made by them and to ask them for
an:explaination. .
Mayor Higby stated that Reddicks Super Market had requested
an additional driveway entranoe to a parking lot which they
were opening on ~~ntrose street between the Olivenbaum and
Cantwell buildings.
After considerable disoussion the matter was refered to the
street Committe for investigation and recommendations at the
next meeting.
The matter of an alley through Block 81 was discussed and it
was decided that it was impossible to obtain the neoessary
righ:t-of-way.
Motion by George, seconded by Ferguson, that the matter of
an alley through Blook 81 be tabled. Motion oarTied.
Motion by Winston, seconded by Ferguson, that Attorney Morse
return all alley right-of-way deed, through Block 81, to the
o\v.ners of the property. ~otion oarred.
Clerk Johnson stated that l~. Klopfenstein, of Minneola;
desired tOMpurchase from 11,000 lbs. to 14,000 lbs. of transite
pipe from Johns-~~nville and that as a minimum load was 30,000 Ih~
the city might desire to oomplete the load and abtain the dellvQ~~'
prioe. .

Motion by ~eeker, seoonded by Winston, that olerk Johnson
be authorized to purohase the neoessary 6" transite, Class 150'
pipe from Johns-Hanvile to complete the load as outlined above:
Motion carried.
Polioe Chief Brooks report was read and ordered riled.
Motion by Winston, seconded by Meeker, that Clerk JmUlson be
autho~ized to pay the f9llowing bills from the Cigarette
tax fund.

Clerk Johnson read a letter from Mrs. H. H. TUlly, Chairman of
the Beautification Committee, calling the attention of the city
to certainlots which they owned and which were in need of
cleaning.
Motion by George, seconded by Ferguson, that the Clerk advise Mrs
Tully that the Council would take care of the matter as soon as
possible. Motion carried.
Motion by Meeker, seconded by Ferguson, that the
~uthorized to cancel the fol1mwing 1951 taxes as
assessed through error. Motion carried. :

Clerk Johnson Called the Councils Attention to certain local
business which were operating with out occupational license.
The clerk was instructed to have the police call on said businesses
and collect the necessary occupational license fees and that if
said fees were not paid the l~yor was instructed to issue warrants
for those operating without the necessary Occupational Licenses.
Clerk Johnson submitted a list of Sidewalk repair accounts which
were unpaid. The matter was referred to Clerk Johnson and attorney
Morse for col1ect~on.
. Motion By Winston, seconded by rJeeker that the bills be paid.
Motion carreid.
Motion by 1~eker, seconded by George that meeting adjourn.
