A Spocial Moeting of the city council of the city
of Clormont Vias hold at the city hall, lIonday,
April 21, 1952 at 2:30 P. ll.
Tho m08ting was called to order by Council President
T. C. ork, Jr. with the following mombors present:
~inston, Ferguson and George. Absent: Meokor.
1myor Harpor roported that l~. Clarke had resignod
from tho police forco.
Mayor Harpor reportod that LIr. ratcholl had beon ongagod
on the Polico force, on a trial basis, at a salary of
0175.00 per month.
r.lotion by 1.1!inston, seconded by Perguson, that the Mayors
appointmont of lire I'.:'itcholl to the police forco at a salary
olf! 175.00 be confirmod. r~otion carried.
Nayor Harpor informed tho council that it was necossary
to fill the oxisting vacancy on the polico forco as soon as possil
and read applications from several people.
Motion by Ferguson, seconded by T,7inston, that Eayor Harper
interviow r.~r. Powell and Er. Goebells, and that he appoint
the ono in his optnion best qualified to the polico force at
a salary of 175.00 per month. l,~otion carriod.
Lotion by Goore;o, soeo-..ded by Forguson, that tho clork inform
]\,1r. Driggs, of Sun Chovrolot Comp~ny, that the city will not
purchase a garbago packor at this timo and tl~t it will
therefore not bo nocossary for him to hold tho domonstrator.

Clerk Johnson informed tho council that he had sold lots 36'

price of 150.00 each, and that tho purchaser would also like
to purchaso lots 12 and 46 in the sarno block with the full
understanding that tho road right-of-way would be reserved.
Clerk Johnson was authorizod to disposo of lots 12 and 46
