The adjourned meoting of the city Council oftha' city of
Clermont was hold at the city naIl, March 18,1982,'
with all members being present, City attorney I.2orso, r,~ayor
Harper, Tax Collector Nagel, Fire Chief Sheldon, Marshall .
Brooks Foreman Fullwood, Mr. Christ~nson and Mr. Tsigarido.
Tho meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Council
Prosident T. C. Cork, Jr.
Tho minutes of tho regular mooting held March 4tll., 1952 and
tho Special meeting held hmrch 13th. were read and approved as
read.
Clerk Johnson read a letter from F. N. Darby, Jr., District
Supervisior for the Indemnity Insurance Company of North
America, calling tllO attention of the city to certain accident
exposures existing within the city and suggesting that they be
corrected immediately. The following sidewalks were l!sted as
needing attention: (7) in front of the Baptist Church, (8)
a t the sjV! corner of ;~ontrose & 5th. Streets, (9) at the NE
corner of Broome and 7th. Streets, (10) on 7th. street adjacent
to house 807, (11) at the alley entrance in the rear of the
Reaxall Drug store on f!ontrose 1 (12) betwwen Brice Dr:Y Cleaners
and tho outboard motor service shop on Montro~e, (13) on tho
West side of 8th Avenue 25 feet North of the Western Union,
(14) the walk leading into ~he Womans club Building, (15) the
brokon sidewalk on the North side of Eontrose street betwwon
Bo\vman & Brown Healty Company and Carroll Electric Co., (16)
and the NE corner of Montrose and 8th. Streets.
Motion by Winston, seconded by George, that the property
owners of property bordering on the afore mentioned locations
be notified and instructed to make the necessary repairs
within thirty days from date and that if thoy fail to do so
the repairs will be made by the city and the cost of same charged
agains t the property. I'~otion carried.
l1r. Georgo repertod that he and Er. Ivleoker had gone into
tho matter of Insurance coverage increasos and that they
recommendod certain increases. After some discussion
r..:otion was made by George, soconded by Winston, tp.at tho increases
in fire insurance covorage take effect as follows:

Mr. Winston reporting for tho Special City owned Lot appraisal
Committee stated that a 'Value of 150.00 oach had beon placed
on lots 30 to 45 inclusive, Block 9, Lake Sunny Side.
ll'lotion by VVinston, seconded by George that the city state
and advertise to the public tho minimum price which they will
accept for the lots offered for sale, and that all bids must
exceed such minimum price to be considered. Motion carried.
Motion by George, seconded by r,1eeker, that the Alloy running
East and Host in Block 11, Sunny Side Unit~'.be pormenont1y
abandoned and closed. Motion carried.

Inland Groves bid of $310.00 for lot 9; Block 108, Indian Hills
and of 300.00 for lot ~, Block 108 Indian Hills-was accepted
and the Clerk was instructed to furnish Inland Groves with a
deed on the said two 'lots and also lot 11 of the same block
previously purchased.
Clark Johnson read a lettor from Hunnicutt & Associates
asking for a renewal of their contract.
Motion,"by Meeker, that~:~Hunnicutt &: Associates b~ advised that
the city of Clermont is no longer interested in their contract.
Tho motion did not receivo a second.
Clerk Johnson asked the coUncil for permission to furnish,
Police Chief Brooks with a key to the city gasoline tank and
the permission was granted.
Fire Chief Sheldon recommended that ~h$' t-ire Hydrant at
Osceola and second streets be replaced.
Notion by Ueeker seconded by Ferguson that a new Fire
Hydrant be installed at Osceola and Second streets,
Clerk Johnsen askod for permission to purchase 200 feet of
water hose for use at the cemetary and 50 feet for use by
the fire department. Upon motion by George, seconded by
Ferguson and carried permission was given.
Mayor Harper was, again instructed to proceed with the collection
of unpaid occupational licenses.
Motion by Winston, seconded by George, that Ordinance 41; be
amended to omit the pe~ission givon for outsido privies.
T5otion carried.
The Building ConnnittOQ, the Eayor, The Building Inspector and
tho City Sanitary or Health Officer were instructod to mako an
Inspection of tho city, and partictularly those houses boing moved
aleng Highland Avenue, and to tako what ever steps necessary and
accorded(:by law, to correct violations of city health and safoty
laws. '
I'.'Iotion by George, secondod by Ferguson, that Fit:th Streot in
front of tho Baptist church be changed to parallel parking.

I~otion by George, soconded by 1Ninston, that the roquest of
H. Clifton Bailoy, to eroct a house within 10 feet of the
street line, in Block 7, Sunny side be deniod. r.:otion carried.
Health Officer ~holdon reported on goneral unsanitary conditions
within the city.
r,fotion by lIekkor, soconded by Vlinston, that the fire siren be
repaired and that the fire c~ief got a definate price for an
automatic switch. Carried.

\TI~ich ordinance was read in full. The motion was seconded by
l.'ir. George and unallllamously carried. Hr. Flinston then moved that
the rules be waived and the Ordinanco bo read tho second time
by title only. Tho I,:otion was seconded by m:r. ~"erguson and
unanamously carried. After the second roading Mr. Georgo moved
that the rulos be further waived and that tho Ordinance be placed
upon its passago. The motion was soconded by I.ir. Ferguson and
unanamously carrmed.

vote tho ayes wore 17inston, Ferguson, Moo ker, Cork and George.

LATING THERETO.
VH1EREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont did, in
accordance with ~ections 20 and 21 of Ordinance No. 48, the Zoning
Ordinance, cause a notice to be published in The Clermont Press, a
newspaper published in the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida,
in the issue of February 7, 1952, which read as follows:

accordance with the foregoing notices, meet in the City Hall of the
City of Clermont at 7:30 and 8:00 P.M., respectively, on the 19th
day of Febtuary, A.D., 1952, and duly considered the proposed amend-
ments to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Clermont, the same being
Ordinance No. 48, and heard all those present, if any there were; and,
the said City Council of the City of Clermont did, at its regular
meeting on Tuesday, l~rch 4th, further consider said proposed amend-
ments to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Clermont; and,
~HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont is of the
unanimous opinion that such amendments to said Zoning Ordinance should
be made; therefore,

SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
