Regular Meeting
The regular adj0urned meeting of the city council was held
at the city ball Nov~mber 20-, 1951. "
The meeting was called to order by President E. G. Winston
at '7:30 P. M. with the following members presont: 'T. C'. Cerki Jr.
B. K. Ferguson, W. H. McQuistion and Arthur George. Absent none.
Othera being present. were Mayor Nagel, city.attorney Irving
MGrso~ Fire chief and Building Insp~ctor Sheldon; city foreman
Brad tullW00d~ police.officer Brooks, Mr. Goedo and representatives
of BoliGr sorvice inc.~Elgin inc. and Florida Equ1~~~nt Company.
Tho minutes 61' the regular meeting held November 6th., were read
and approved.
Tbe representative of Boiler s0rvice inc.; submitt~d his bid
for the hoating of the city'hall and explainod his reason for
offering certain used equipment.in his bid.
The representative of Elgin inc. explained the use and merits
of the "~gging machine" sold by his company.
The r~presentative of Florida Eguipment Company explained the
constructi0nj op.rati~n and merits of the Lull 3-B Shovel L0ador
in"which the city was interested. After a short discussion
Mr. G~org. made the motion; seoonded by Cork that the oity
place an Qrder,with Florida Equ1pmentCompa~ for one Lull 3-B
Shovel Loader, on0 mat~rial bucket, '~ne rear ballast box and cns
Bulldoz0r blade, at a price of $1,006.00 F. O. B. Minneapolis.
Motion carriod.
Mr. Geede complained to th0 city council that 'the proposed'
garbage ~ollmction charges for 'apartment houses was unfair,
and also seemed to think that the ontire city rate of taxes was
toC? high.
Mr. Arthur Georgo reportod that the pres'ont colCl)red cometary
was completely filled and that additional spaco must" be provided
at once. Mr. Goorge further stated tha,t tho city owned the
property adjoining the present oametary, on the East side, and
moved that the two and ono half acres lying direotly East of
the presont com~tary be dedicated aa a colored cemetary and that
same be 'immediately olG)ared,~et.d,' market 'and Qffered
for sale. !he motion was seconded my Mr. Cork and upon being
put tel) a vote oarried.
Mr., Magel was instructed to ebtain a list of persons and firms,
operating withing the city without oooupational lioenses and to
oall on'such'persons and firms and endeav0r to oollect for said
license, and, that in the evont he was 'imabl$ to colleot fer
said ocoupatio.nal licensQs that he"was to issuo a summens to tho
of~Gnders to appear ~n tho city court.

,Tho clerk read'a letter from Mr. Croizer regarding the "sale of
oity hold lots. The olark was instructed to advise Mr. Croizer
that a notioe would appear in the looal paper prior to the sal$
'of the lots in question.

Motion by' Cork, seconded by FergUsQn~ that 'the bid of Morten
J~ Barnes, in the amount of $2,192.00 (less elctrical'wiring)
for the hoating of tho city hall be acceptod, and that Mr. .
Barnes bo instructed to proceed as seon as possible. Carried.
Mr. Nagel reported that a notice would appear in next weeks
local paper regarding stray dogs and dog licenses, and that
he oxpected to havG a dog pound completed within tho near future.

Mayor Nagel was instructed to work with attorney Morse in taking
the nocessary st.ps in closing the Bronson, or Kern, Apartments
for oporation wi~h0ut licGnse, or other violatie~.
Motion by Goorge, secondod by Cork that Callis W. BrOOKS
be appointed oity Marshall and police chiof0X-officie.

Motion by. Cork, seconded by George 'that city 'clerk be empowerod
to ,correct all'discovered errors in computation in the tax rolls.

property of R~ A. Froeman be reducted to the land valuo as
his home was not completed Jan. 1st., and same was assossed
