lVIINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
held at the City Hall; Tuesday l~y 1~ 1951
Council p~esident E G Winston called the meeting to order
7:30 P. M. Also present; T C Cork Jr; B K Ferguson; W H
McQuistion and C R Reid councilmen. Mayor G M Nagel; Fire
Chief Sheldon; Engineer Zelazo; Atty Morse; Marshall
Anderson; C W Brooks and J B Fullwood.
Moved by Mr Reid; seconded by Mr Cork and carried that no
more sand be r~moved from the Clay Pit except for County
and City needs.
Moved by Mr McQuistion; seconded by Mr Ferguson and carried
that a demonstration be made of the new fire truck at
11th and Broome; Sunset Lake; May 18th....5 P. M~
Moved by lYir Reid seconded by Mr Ferguson and carried that
water service co~~ections for Cashwell Gaines builders
remain as of April 1951 fee; for all units for a period of
1 year.
M~tion made by 1~ Reid; seconded by Mr Ferguson and carried;
material for grand stand (bleachers) ball park be purchased

Moved by Mr Cork; seconded by Mr Ferguson, Mr :Morse be
authoriz~d to quiet title on all property owned by the City
and not used. carried.
Council discussed moving the present Library building or
erect a new one.
!~ Oswalt of the Lions Club briefly explained the'program
~or the Fishathon for May 23rd at Center Lake and Sparkling
Vater Lake; and asked Mayor ~age1 to have police patrol
these areas.
Mr Winston asked clerk to write Burke Chester, to spray
for flies and gnats.
