Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the City Council held at
Trte Clty Hall; Tuesday November 7; 1950.
Council president A M Johnson called the meeting to order 7:30

councilmen. Mayor H T Williams; City Atty I F Morse, Engineer
Ze1azo, Fire Chief Sheldon; Marshall Anderson and J B Fullwood.'
l~s JeB-S"ie Whitney asked Council to consider her Taxes
Mrs Fox presented a petition to have Lake Minnehaha Drive paved.
Mr Cork asked Council to consider the Homestead Exemption on
the Simon Kessler property.

original valuation on the notice, and increase was made in error.
Motion carried.
Mayor Williams reported that Jar FOl"bes at the School has. been
deputized.
Clerk to order three new pOlice badges~
Fire Chief reported the hydrant on Bowman st was not in order.

Atty Morse reported that he still did not receive the Change Sheet
Moved by Mr Reid that in as much as notice was not published
meeting for November 10th, be held meeting night of December 5th.
Seconded by r6r McQuistion; motion carried.
Moved by ~T Winston seconded by W~ McQuistion that the Plat of
Alta Vista be approved. liotion Carried.
Mayor WilliamsL_'Mr McQuistion and ~~ Winston to work out the deal
on the Radio; ~~reman etc; and bring in their report as soon as
!'ossible.
Moved by i~ Castnert4 seconded by ~~ McQuistiom that the Council
President and the C ty Clerk be authorized to pay the Ean Ingen
bills. Motion carried.

OF THE REVISED GENERAL 0 RDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
CLERloiOlifT. LAKE COUNTY. FLORIDA.

Vfrlich Ordinance was read in full. Motion was seconded by Mr
Reid and when put to vote motion carried. llr Castner then
moved that the rules be waived and the Ordinance read the
second time by TITLE only. The motion was seconded by Mr l.~c
Quistion and carried unanimously. After the second reading Mr
Reid moved that the rules be further waived and placed upon' its
passage~ The motion was seconded by 1&r Castner and carried~
Thereupon the Ordinance was read in full and upon the passage of
same, the roll was called with all councilmen in favor; the
Ordinance was passed; Title as stated and was ordered recorded in
the Ordinance Book and unmbered ~, ~ copy in full appears in
this book following these mdnutes.

Mr Reid offered an Ordinance and moved that it be passed ~
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CANCELLATION ~
ALL DrTPAID TAXES AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENT LIENS
ON PROPERTY IN THE CITY CF CLERMONT PREVIOUSLY
OVtTNED; SOLD AND CONVEYED TO THIRD PARTIES BY
THE CITY OF CLERMONT; and other matters
relating thereto.
which ordinance was read in full. Motion seconded by
Mr McQuistion and when put to vote motion was carriea;
Moved by Mr Castner that the rules be waived and the
Ordinance read the second time by TITLE only. The motion
was seconded by Mr Reid and carried unanimously. After
the second reading l~ McQuistion moved the rules be fuDLber
waived and placed upon its passage. The motion was seconded
by Mr Castner and carried. Thereupon the Ordinance 'Was
read in full and upon passage of same the roll was called
with all councilmen in favor; the Ordinance was passed; Title
as stated and was ordered recorded in the Ordinance Book amI ~1~'

Mr Reid introduced authorizing the City's membership in
The Florida League of Municipa1ittes, and moved for its
adoption. Seconded by Mr McQuistian; motion carried.
Moved by W~ Castner; seconded by ~~ Reid that Mr Mc Quistion
be delegate to the League of Municipalities Convention in
Lake land; with expenses paid. Motion carried.
Moved by A~ Castner; City reduce the assessed valuation on ~~
Jessie \Vhitney Homestead property $2000.00 as it was assessed vi
thru error. Motion carried.
PlIr Reid moved, Engineer be authorized to order 12 signs and
posts; seconded by Mr Castner; motion carried;
1:ioved by Mr Castner City buy 40 Concrete Meter Boxes complete.
Seconded by 1~ ~eid and carried.
Council reconnneIidedCthe Engineer see to getting a new door
for City Hall.
Moved by y~ Castner; seconded by l~ Reid that Oscar Rudd be
given Lease for one year for Sand from the City Pit; and pay
the City 25 cents per yard for all removed. motion carried~
Moved by Mr Reid; seconded by Mr Castner that Salary of C W
Brooks be raised to $175 per month for the balance of this year.
motion carried.
Moved by Mr Castner; seconded by Mr Reid and carried that the
salary of Chief Anderson be raised to $200.00 ~er month for
the balance of this year. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr Castner; seconded by Mr McQuistion that the City
Clerk's salary be raised to $225.00 per month for the balance
of this year. Motion carried.
