COUNCIL HELD AT THE CITY HALL, Tuesday li'eb. 21, 1950

Minutes of the Feb. 7th meeting read and approved.
John Schopmeyer, representing the V.F.W.,asked for the
use of City Lot 13, Block 90 for barbecue burner and
picnic benches, for general use. Moved by Mr Castner
this request be granted, seconded by Mr Winston, carried.
Mr Ebinger asked council to consider lower rate for water
used on the football field. Moved by Mr Winston, City
install meter and allow school to have water Sor the foot-
ball field at the same rate as the churches. econded by
Mr Reid and carried.
Moved by Mr McQuistion, Clerk employ Mrs Anderson when
help was needed for City Hall Office, at $4.00 per day.
Seconded by Mr Winston and carried.
Moved by Mr ~cQuistion that State Fire Marshall be notified
of the Fire Hazard back of the theatre. Seconded by Mr
Winston and carried. Mr Morse asked to write this letter.
Engineer reported that the City crew built an addition to
the City Barn for storage.
Moved by Mr Winston that an electric light be installed at
Penzance and Tivoli Road. Seconded by Mr Reid and carried.
Moved by Mr Castner that the Contract with Hunnicutt be
signed and returned. Seconded by Mr Winston and carried.
Moved by Mr Oastner, seconded by Mr Reid meeting adjour'n.

RESOLUTIOt-!
WHEHEAS, it has been called to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Clermont by Mr. H. 1'1. Sheppard,
Certified Public Accountant and auditor for the City of Clermont
that there are fixed assets for sanitary privies of $44.50 and
certain delinquent real and pe~:sonal property taxes for the year~;
of 1939 through 1948 herGinafter enumerated inclusive which have
been erroneously assessed or \IA1ich have been found to be uncol-
lectible by reason of the persons against whom the assessments
have been made to be either deceased, out of business or removed
from the City of Clermont and have no visible propert,;' upon which
the City could levy if the City sought 'to foreclose ~aid tax liens;
~"HCREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Clermont that in the year of 1940 on
pages 1 and 81 of the tax aGsessment roll there have been found
an assessment on page 1 against the City of Clermont for Jeal estate
taxes in the amount of $2.25 which was an erroneous assessment, and
on page 81 a delinquency of $18.00 on taxes due to have been paid
by the Tavares & Gulf Railroad and that in that year it is found
that a receipt for the taxes in full had been written by an acting
city clerk in error and that said delinquency of $18.00 together
with the delinquency against the City in the amount of 5:::'.25 should
be cancelled from said books; and
~HEREAS, it is found to the best ihterest~ of the City
of Clermont that said fixed assets of $44.50 and the delinquent
taxes for the above respective years be cancelled and declared
null and void, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City ~f Clermont
that the following personal property taxes which are no longer
collectible or which shou~d not be collected as hereinabove set
forth be forever cancelled and the City Clerk of the City of Cler-
~nt under the direction of the City Auditor is hereby directed to
take such steps as is necessary to cancel same on the books of the
City of Clermont, said taxes being more particularly described as
follows:

BE IT RESOLVED that the fixed assets for sanitary

in 1946 authorizing a revolving fund to be used in the assistance
of citizens building same and who were not financially able to
pay for these facilities be cancelled and declared null and void~
and
BE IT RESOLVED that the hereinbefore enumerated del in-
~uent real and personal property taxes for the years of 1939
through 1948 together with the above described fixed assets of
$44.50 be cancelled and held for naught on the books of the City
of Clermont by proper entires therein by the City Clerk of the
City of Clermont.
