MI~nTTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING ~ THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
at City Hall, Monday November 7th, 1949.
President Castner turned the meeting over to Engineer
S L Zelazo 7:30 P. M. for the Rurpose of discussing the
proposed Feed Mill of Pomona Products.
Councilmen G A Nash, E G Winston and A. M. Johnson and
City Atty I F Morse present. Also a group~ of Citizens
living in the area concerned, and representatives of Pomona.

Dr Prosser outlined work and conditions of Feed Mill plants,
stated that it was not objectionable in other localities
where they operated. That there would be no smoke except
when not in order, and that the only odor would be a Carrnl91
candy odor.
Dr Prosser answered many questions asked him, and Mr Gwathmey
in charge of the Groveland Plant invited the Council and
Citizens to inspect his plant the next morning, 10.00 A.M.

Meeting called to order by President R.M.Castner 7:30 P.M.
Councilmen present, A M Johnson, G A Nash, F B Roe and E G
Winston. City Atty I F Morse and engineer S L Zelazo.

After the Council and many of the citizens,filing the petition
of protes~, vi1ewing the Groveland FeedUHll, Council heard all
the complaints on the issuance of a building permit for s. Feed
Mill in the Industrial Area in the Northeast part of the City
adjoining Sunset Heights. It was moved by Mr Nash that the
Feed Mill would not be as objectionalhle as outlined to the
Council; that it would be of benefit to the City; and thslt
the petition be denied.
The motion was duly seconded by Mr Winston who stated thElt he
was seconding the motion in order to dispense with the
business at this time.

On Roll Call Vote the following resulted.
Ayes: Mr Castner, Mr Nash, Mr Winston;
Nayes: Mr Johnson. absent: Mr Roe. Motion carried.
On motion duly made by Mr Winston, seconded by Mr Nash the
following councilmen voted to instruct the Building Comm:lttee to
sign the building permit for the Feed Mill to the applicant,
upon the company presenting to the City Engineer and the Bldg
Committee complete bldg plans in accordance with the Zon:Lng and
Bldg Code Ordinances of the City.
Roll call vote with the following result:
Ayes, Mr Castner, Mr Nash, Mr JOhnson, Mr Winston.
Nayes: None. Absent F B Roe. motion carried.
Moved by Mr Nash seconded by
Mr Johnson meeting adjourn.
