MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CI TY COUNCIL HELD AT
ci ty Hall, Tuesday November 1, 1949.
Meeting called to order by President R. M. Castner, 7:30 P.M.
Also present, A. M. Johnson, G. A. Nash, F. B. Roe and E. G.
Winston councilmen. Mayor H R Harper, City Atty I F Morse,

Mrs V Oswalt and Burke Chester presented a program for gnat
and mosquito control with a cost to Clermont about $900.00.
Moved by Mr Roe llDDU seconded by Mr Nash and carried this be
tabled until the next meeting. Council to let Mr Chester and
Mrs Oswalt know by November 15th.
Mr Kerlin asked Council to have City Crew mow Kerlin Air Field
in Minneola. Moved by Mr Winston, seconded by Mr Roe and
carried that Mr Zelazo arrange to have this work donw..
Mr Beals akked for a reduetion in the occupational License
for Express Packing, to $10.0~ as last year. Moved by Mr Nash
seconded by Mr Winston that the License be adjusted to 10.00,
Mr Morse to draw this Ordinance. Motion carried.
Mr Roe reported that the water tank in Orlando was scrapped.
Mr Johnson turned in bids for Police Car. Mr Castner appointed
,r Nash, Mr Winston and Mr Roe as a committee to look over cars,
.ord, Chevrolet and Plymoth.
Fire Committee not ready to report on Insurance rates.
Mayor&s report read.
Moved by Mr Roe seconded by Mr Nash and carried that City
give Pomona Porducts Co a Permit to build a Feed Mill, subject
to regular City Building Code.
Moved by Mr Roe, Attorney Morse contact all people in the
area to see if there is any objectio~, and see Mr Pierce
regarding road r/w. Seconded by Mr ohnson and carried.
Moved by Mr Roe that Mayor Harper get estimates on reassessing
property in ~lermont. Seconded by Mr Nash and carried.
Clerk to write Black Laboratories to go overC~~ter, this~ilik
and contact Mr Zelazo when they can come to Clermont.
Police report read.
Mr Morse reported, election notices had been given to Local paper.
Fire Chief and Engineer reports read.
Moved by Mr Roo, seconded by Mr Nash and carried that the bills
be paid.
Moved by Mr Winston, seconded by Mr Nash meeting adjourn.

FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That Paragraph 118 of Ordinance No. 92
of the City of Clermont, an Ordinance j ;elating to Occupational
License Taxes of the City of Clermont be amended to read
as follows:
118. Fruits, dealers who make express shipments,
not wholly their own production $10.00
SECTI~ II. That this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and approval by the rj~yor.

its Regular Meeting held in the City Hall in the City of Clermont,

PHOVIDING FOR THE HEPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES;
PHOVIDING FOR PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THf.HEOF.
BE iT ':)RDAIJ\ED BY lliE CITY COUJ~IL OF THE CITY OF CLEHiONT:
SECT IO!'.! I. Tl".ot 211 photagraphers having an established
place of business or studio within the territorial limits of the
City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, shall pay an annual occupat-
ional license tax of $10.00.
SECTIor~ II. Any pC1 son, firm or corporation who shall
engage in the business as a photographer with a place of business
or studio i'- the City of Clermont wi thcut having first obtainEld a
license from the City of Clermont shall, upon conviction, be fined
an amount not less than the amount of the license nor more than
double the amount of the license, or shall be imprisoned not mo~e
than 30 days or both, r.uch fine and iMprisonment at the discretion
of tht: JU~ge..
Provided each day's operation of the business shall be
a separate offense.
SECTION III. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
