I' -~ ~ ~t~~ MINUTES OF THE REGULAR 1lliETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD At City Hall, Tuesday July 5th, 1949. Meeting called to order by President R. M. Castner, 7:30 PM., also ~ esent A M Johnson, G A Nash, and E G Winston councilmen. Mayor H R Harper, City Atty I F Morse, City Supt A G Cole, Marshall Wm Kie and J B Fullwood. Ninutes of the regular meetings of June 7th and 21st read and approved. Mayor'S report read. Atty Morse suggested the Council accept the Tax Roll as turned in by the Tax Assessor, with corrections noted, and Clerk to send notices to all whose assessments were reaised. l,ioved by l~r Nash seconded by ~r Winston that the Council set a night to go over the tax roll. Motion carried and Tuesday July 12th 7:30 P M. time set. Police report read. Councilmen aggee to the use of the Tennis Court for a dance fer the Clermont young folks Wed. July 6th. l'lr Johnson presented an ordinance entitled. ~ ~ AN ORDINANCE PREVENTING THE LICENSING OR ffiro,:ITTING OF ANY CONCESSION OR BUSINESS IN A TENT, PORTABLE BUILDING ~xK)I TRUCK, TRQ!ILER OR IN ANY OTHER STRUCTURE ViJITHIN THE FIRE LIMITS OF THE CITY CF CLERUONT, OTHER ~N THOSE STRUCTURES PERMITTED IN THE SAID FIRE LDflITS: DEFINING FIRE LIlITTS OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT AND OTH~R l~ATTERS RELATING THERETO: PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF. was read in full. Moved by Mr Johnson seconded by Mr TIinston that the ordinance be adopted, and when put to Vote motion carried. Moved by Mr Winston, seconded by Mr Johnson that the rules be waived, and the ordinance read the second time by Title only, motion carried unanimously. Arter thesecond reading, Mr Marsh moved that the rules be further waived and that tne Ordinance be read a third time, seconded by Mr Johnson, and c~rried. Thereupon the Ordinance was read in full and upon passage of same the roll was called with the following results. Ayes, Mr Castner Mr Nash, Nr Johnson and Mr Winston. Noes, none. Absent 1.1r Roe. The Ordinance was passed, title as stated and was ordered recorded in the Ordinance Book under No 87. A copy in full appears in this book following these minutes. An Ordinande entitled - AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL NON-RESIDENT SALESMEN, canvassers petitioners and solicitors of subscriptions to or for all publications toregister in the Bity of Clermont; prescribing manner and requirements of registering and other matters eelating thereto, was read in full. ~oved by Mr Johnson seconded by Mr Nash that the Ordinance be adopted, and when put to Vote motion was carried. Moved by Mr Nash, seconded by Mr ~ ,., Page 2. Johnson that the rules be waived and the Ordinance bead a K<<~~~N second time by Title only, motion carried unanimously. After the second reading Mr ~1inston moved, that the rules be further waived and that the Ordinance be read a third time seconded by r.lr Johnson and carried. Thereupon the Ordina~ce was read in full and upon passage of same the roll was called with the following results. Ayes, Mr Castner, Mr Nash Mr Johnson and Mr Winston. Noes, none. Absent Mr Roe. An Ordinance entitled- AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR M~OUNT OF OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAXES ON RESIDENT ~JD NON-RESIDENT BUSINESS. was read in full. Moved by Mr Winston, seconded by Mr Johnson that the Ordinance be adopted, and when put to Vote motion carried. Moved by Mr Winston, seconded by Mr Johnson that the rules be waived and the ordinance read the second time by Title only, motion carried unanimously. After the second reading Mr Nash moved that the rules be further rvai ved and that the Ordinance be read a third time, seconded by Mr Winston and carried. Thereupon the Ordinance was read in full and upon passage of same the roll was called with the following results. Ayes, Mr Castner, Mr Johnson, Mr Nash and Mr Winston. Noes, none. Absent Mr Roo. 'lhe Ordinance was passed, title as stated and was ordered recorded in the Book of Ordinance, and numbered 89. A copy RR in full appears in this book following these minutes. Mr Cole was instructed to have the City men clean up and get the Base ball park in condition. Moved by Mr Winston seconded by Mr Johnson that the City use the Clay Pit for garbage, and burn regularily. Carried. City to hire Bull Dozer to cover old dump. Moved by ~r Johnson, seconded by Mr Winston that the bills be paid, motion carried. Moved by Mr Johnson seconded by Mr Winston that the County Taxes be stricken from the roll. Motion carried.
