MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
at CITY HALL Tuesday April 5, 1949.
Meeting called to order by President R. M. Castner, 7:30 P.M.
Also present, A ~ Johnson, F B Roe, and E G Winston Councilmen.

Minutes of the meetings of March I, and 15th read and approved.

Mr Stack presented outline guide for Recreation Program for
Clermont Youth.
Moved by Mr "viinston seconded by Mr Johnson that the city
employ two assistants for recreation directors,for two months,
approved by the City Council, at a cost not to exceed ~~250.00
each. Motion carried.
Mr McKinstry asked the Council for :re rmission to use the foot of
Bowman St. Moved by Mr Winston, seconded by Mr Roe and carried
that folks living on the foot of Bmvrnan Street be givon
permission to use the Beach, clean it up and build a pier for
boating and swin~ing.
Mrs Bess presented a "Build a better community" program. The
Woman's Club plans to beautify the City by organizing all
clubs and workir.g out a worthwhile project. Mr Roe appointed
to represent the Ci~ and meot with the Woman's Club. .
Mayor's report read. Speeding chocked on Osceola St.
Compalints that many residents are not puttIng out garg~ge
in proper containers. Marshall and Mr Winston to make a
survey and notify residents.
Marshall's report. Police car in need of repairs. Moved by
Mr Roe seconded by Mr Johnson that Harper Motor Co take care
of the police car repairs and tires as reasonably as possible.
Motion carried.
Moved by Mr Roe, seconded by Mr Winston and carried that the
City designate for a park, Sunset Lake. That is, the area
East of 1welfth Street, West of Linton Court, South of Broome
Street and North of Chestnut Street.
Mr ~orse asked to draw up lease for Mr Brackman.
Moved by Mr Johnson, seconded by Mr Winston and carried that
parking on North side of Minneola Avenue between Fourth and
Fifth Streets bo prohibited.
~/Loved by Mr Winston seconded by Mr Johnson, that Clerk write
Mr Shepard regarding the City Auditing. Motion carried.
Moved by Mr Roe seconded by Mr Winston that the bills be paid
when funds are available. Carried.
