Audit fee be paid. Carried. Moved by Mr Nash soconded by Mr Winston that Mr Sheppard be employed as City Auditor on the same bas~s as last year. carried. Moved by Mr Winston seconded by Mr Johnson that City purchase the 24 inch Snapping Turtle Mower, complete with Dol11, with a trade in of the old morer, at a cost not to exceed ~220.00. Carried. - ' Moved b~ Mr Rea, seconded by Mr Nash that the Float Switch at the ater Tank be repaired as soon and as reasonably as possible, and general repairs be made to put water pump in good working condition. carried. Moved by Mr Nash, seconded by Mr Roe that City refuse the qhurch of God a permit to build on lots 8 & 9, block 90. varried. Moved by Mr Nash seconded by Mr Roe that Mr A. Rollin Cooper end wife be given lease for Lake Front, lot 31 lermont Heights. Carried. Mr Nash reported progress of Fire Dept. Listed items necessary. Motion made by Mr Jouhson, Seconded by Mr Roe that the price of these items be submitted to the Fire Committee. Carried. Moved by Mr Nash seconded by Mr R~ that A L Sheldon be hired as Fire Chief at $25,00 per month. Carried. Motion made by Mr Nash seconded by Mr Johnson that the Telephone 9oproration submit plans and specifications for a Telephone Booth to be erected on Montrose, by the Police Booth, Subject to the approval of the Council. P~ll . 7Ji~ ~ ~ -~ ---,., ORDINANCE NO.j66 AN ORDINANCE R~ATING TO TRAFFIC AND REGULATING USE OF PUBLIC STREbTS IN THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, PRESCRIBING MANNER OF PARKING AND LIMITATIONS OF TIME FOR PARKING: PROVIDING FOR RESTRICTED PARKING AREAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PUNISHMENT FOR ITS VIOLATION. BE I~l ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI1'Y Ole" CLERMONT: SECTION 1. DEFINITIONS: Whenever in this Ordinance the following terms are used, they shall have the meanings respectively ascr1bed to them in this Section. STREET: Every way set apart for public travel except alley- ways, bridle paths and footpaths. ROADWAY: That portion of a street between the regularly established curb lines. SIDEWALK: That portion of a street between the curb l1nes and the adjacent property l1nes. VEHICLE: A conveyance propelled by motor power. CURB: A concrete bDrder on the outer edge of a s1dewalk lying between sidewalk and roadway. SECTION 2. The Mayor and po11ce officers of the City of Clermont are hereby vested with the power to regulate the parking ot vehicles on the streets of the City of Clermont; to limit the t1me of parking between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.; to reserve certain areas for the use of commercial vehicles for the delivering or pioking up of merchandise at places of business; to restrict at any hour during the day ezdnight the parking ot vehicles in certain areas for fire protection. SECTION 3. The Mayor and the police officers when finding it necessary for the public health, safety, prevention of fires, to 1ncrease the flow of normal traffic, to regulate the parking ~ ,., of vehicles or to restrict the parking of vehicles in certain areas in the City of Clermont, shall &0 designate these areas by appropriate markings on the curb 11ne of the street within the restricted area or by signs affixed to sidewalk posts at a heigh' which can be seen by the operators of all motor veh1cles; ~ .., that if oertain areas are restricted as to the time limits ot parking, such time limits between the hours of 8:00 A. M. in the morning and 6:00 P. M. in the evening shall be so designated by appropriate signs on the ourb or by signs affixed to posts on the sidewalks in full v1ew of the operators of all motor vehioles. SECTION 4. The Mayor and the polioe Department shall regularly inspect the areas in which the t1me limits of parking Or restrictions of parking have been established, as hereinabove provided, and when such vehicles are found in v10lation of th1s Ordinance a note stat1ng that it has been parked in violation of this Ord1nance and instructin~ the owner or operator to report to the Polioe Department in regard to such violation shall be attached to the vehicle. The owner or operator may, within 24 hours after the time wben such note was attaohed to such vehicle, pay to the Chief of police or to the City Clerk of the City of Clermont in full satisfaction of such violation the sum of $1.00. SECTION 5. Any person violating any provision of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon oon- viot10n thereof shall be punished by a fine not exoeeding $100.00 or by imprisonment 1n the city jail for a period not exoeed1qg one month or by both such fine or imprisonment. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be deemed to be in addition and aupplementary to, and not in conflict with, nor a repeal of existing Ordinances of this City, but shall be an additional pro- vision for the regulation of traffio and the parking of vehicles in areas provided for her in. SECTION 7. If any section, part of section, sentence, clause ~ or phrase of this Ordinance shall be held to be unconstitutional - or invalid, the remain1ng'provisions here of shall nevertheless remain in full force and effect. SECTION 8. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances or Resol- utions in conflict with the proviSions of this Ord1nance are hereby repealed. SECTION 9. J 1949. /~7~~ ."for n~ -~ ~ --., ORDINANCE NO. 85 AN ORDINANCE DEFINING AIR GUNS; RESTRICTING THE 8ALE, OWN~RSHIP, POSSESSION, DISCHARGING, OR CARRY- ING OF AIR GUNS WITHIN 'fHE C rry LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT; PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PUNISHMENT FOR ITS VIOLATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OSUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF CLERMONT: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, air guns, sometimes commonly referred to as "bube guns," are now being manufactured in a manner wherein they can be pumped up so that when the trigger is pulled the bebe or other missile that is projected from the gun attains a hign velocity and can do considerable damage and cause loss of life or bodily 1n~ury; and, SECTION 2. WHEREAS, it is found that considerable damage is being done to the property of the City of Clermont and those living and doing business within the City of Clermont, by minors and persons of age discharging or firing air guns, it is now deemed necessary for the protection of life and property within the City ot Clermont that this ordinance be passed restricting the .ale, ownership, possession and carrying of air guns by minors or persona of age within the City of Clermont. SECTION 3. DEFINITION: Air Gun is a gun in wh1ch condensed air i8 used as the propelling agent. SECTION 4. Hereatter it shall be unlawful tor any person, firm or corporation to sell or otfer to sell to any minor or person of aFe in the City ot Clermont an air gun Or any other gun which uses condensed air as a propelling agent of its missile. SECTION 5. It shall be unlawful for any minor or any person ot age to own, possess, or carry an air rifle, or to discharge same ~ -,., within the territorial boundaries within the City of Clermont. SECTION 6. Any person violating any proviSion of this ordi- nance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereot shall be punishable by a fine not exceed ing $100.00 or by imprisonment in the city jail for a period not exceeding one month, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 7. If any section, part of section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance shall be held to be uncon- ~ ---.., stitutional or invalid, the remaining provisions hereof shall nevertheless remain in full force and effect. SECTION 8. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances or Resolu- tions in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 9.
