SPECIAL l~ETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL held at City Hall
Ts~rsday August 5th.....~Tax Equalization Board.
Meeting called to order by Pres. R. l;I. Castner 7 :45 P.M.
C. Addington asked for a reduction of his personal property
taxes.
E. W. Ashton asked for a reduction in assessed value of
lots 10-11-12 and 13, block 8 Lp..ke Sunnyside Unit.,

of 11-12- block 73.
Councilmen considered these requests and set an agreeable
valuation on each.

REGULAR _WJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL held at
City Hall, Tuesday August 17, 1948.
Meeting called to order by Pres. R. M. Castner 7 :30 P. I~.
Also present J.V.Brice, G.A.Nash, T.F.Thompson, I~yor H.R.
Harper, City Attorney Irving F. Morse, City supt. A. G: Cole
Y~rshall C.A.H~ttson, ~rr Colegrove and J.B.Fullwood.
w~ and MIs Halsted asked the council the ruling on keeping
chickens in the City Limits, and were quoted a paragraph
of the City Ordinance, and asked to keep a. sanitary condition
there.
The Layne-Atlantic representative came in:md answered
various questions regarding the pump !3.nd 'test ne~essary.
Motion made by lITr Br ice, seconded by 1.'[1' Thompson and
unanimously agreed by the Counc iI, that the employ the Layne-
Atlantic, Co. to make the test, at the approxima13e rate of
$15.00 per hour. taking about ten hours.
I~ Harper read a letter written by l&s Rose complaining
about the odor of the chickens and the cow owned by 1~
Sullins. 'Clerk to write 1.1rs Rose the Ordinance on this.
l~ Castner called an executive session.
Motion made by IIlr lifash seconded by Mr Brice that the City
rent a sufety deposit box in the Bank for ~rr Coon's use in
keeping the city bond coupons. JA:otion carried.
