07-06-1948 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING TUESDAYj July 6, 1948. Meeting called to order by Presid~nt R. M. Castner 7:45 P.M. Present, J.V. Brice, G.A. Nash, F.B. Roe, T.F. Thompson, Mayor ~. R. Harper, City Attorney K.F. Morse, City Supt. A.G. Cole, Fire Chief H.M.Cole, Marshall C.A. Mattson, and R.F. House. Minutes of the June 1st and 15th meetin@s read, corrected and approved. Price on the well to be drilled, $5.75 per foot. '-":f~ ~C,~ Mayor's report: Marshalls & Fire Chief's reports read. Motion made by Mr. Roe seconded by Mr. Nash that the Frye lease be rescinded for failure to comply with the terms of the lease, and th~y bo given a thrity days notice. Motion carried. A. ~. Cole recommended making a group of maps, or a port- folio of maps of the City of Clermont, the councilmen favored this suggestion, and asked Mr. Cole to assemble this port- folio. Motion m~de by Mr. Roe, seconded by Mr. Nash that the bills be paid when funds are available. Mr. Castner dee:Illsted the council would go into executive session. Mr. House, Tax assessor, and Mrs. M. J. Barnes asked to remain. City Tax Assessor, R. F. House, presented the 1948 Tax Assessment Roll to the City Council. The council immediately considered each assessment raising and lowering several in order to have an equitable assessment on all property. On motion duly made and unanimously carried, the 1948 Tax Assessment Roll of the City of Clermont was accepted, with all changes in valuation made thereon, and the clerk was directed to publish a notice in the local paper that the City Council would set as a Board of Equalization on Thursday August 5, 1948, at 7:30 P.M. in the City Hall, and therein request all who had any assessment complaints to be made. to present their complaint in person in writing or by their attorney or agent.
