06-01-1948 Regular Meeting REGULAR MEETING OF THE CI'IT COUNCIL ,HELD AT CITY HALL Tuesday June 1, 1948.. Meeting called to ~der 7:30 P. M. by President R. M. Castner. Councilmen present were J. V. Brice; G. A. Nash, F. B. Roe and T. F. 'Thompson. Mayor H. R. Harper, City Attorney Irving F. Morse, City Sup't A. G. Cole, Marshall C. A. Mattson, Fire Chief H. M. Cole and J.B.Fullwom . Minutes of the May 4th and 18th meetings read and approved. ........ Mayor'S report read. ~ 4 ~':-i-::"; Motion made by Mr Roe seconded by Mr Nash that A. G. Cole get) . estimate on 8" - 10" and 12" well to be drilled at 8th 8:fid. ':/ Lincoln Park. Also an estimate on enough 6" Transite to connect Lincoln Park line with the one at the cemetery, to maintain 60 pounds pressure. Motion carried. ~., Motion ma~e by Mr Brice seconded by Mr Roe that Mr Harper purchase three p~eces of equipment at the Banana River Air Base. Motion carried. . Motion made by Mr Brice seconded by Mr Roe that Parkind Meters be placed on Montrose for 150 ft towards Lake Ave from seventh Street onthe, South side of Montrose, Parallel parking. No parking on the North side. Motion carried. Motion made by Mr Nash seconded by Mr Brice that A. G. Cole con- tact the Manly Construction Co and find what it will cost to re~surface Montrose from 7th to 8th Streets including both intersections. Motion carried. Marshalls report, Fire Chief's reports read. Clerk instructed to ask Walter Warren f~ receipted itemized bill when paying his fee f~ the Sullins - Layne case recently closed. Motion made by Mr Brice seconded by Mr Thompson that A. G. Cole attend the school cr instruction on water wcr kd, in the U. of Florida in Gainsvil1e the week of June 7th. Expense money not to exceed $50.00 to be given Mr Cole. Motion carried. Motion made by Mr Brice seconded by Mr Thompson that the bills be paid when funds are available. Motion carried. Mr Morse agreed to draw up a lease f~ the Lake Shore property of C. A. Mattson, lots 7 and 8, block 4, Clermont. Motion made by Mr Nash seconded by Mr Roe that the meeting adjourn.
