MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT
CITY HALL Tuesday May 4, 1948.

Meeting called to order by President R. M. Castner 7:30 P. M.
Other c'ouncilmen present, J.V .Brice, F.B.Roe', G.A.Nash, and
T.F.Thompson. Mayor H.R.Harper, City Supt A.G.Cole, Marshall
C.A.Mattson, Fire Chief H.M.Cole and Mr Cantwell.
Minutes of April 6th and 20th meetings read and approved.
Mr Cantwell stated his desire to move a temporary building
from the back of his property on Montrose St, andconne~;t it
to the present store building. Motion made by Mr Nash, seconded
by Mr Roe that'Mr Cantwell be allowed to move this building.
Motion carried.
Mayor's report given.
Motion made by Mr Roe, seconded by Mr Brice that the contract be
given the Manley Construction Co, of Leesburg, to widen Montrose
Street, from Seventh Street to Lake Avenue for $2.81 per
lineal foot, including 6 x 12" curbing, 8" lime roc'kbase tar
prime and double surface street. Motion carried.
Marshall's report, six arrests and $48.00 fines and forfeitures
turned over to the City Clerk.
Fire Chief's report read.
A. G. Cole to secure prices on Fifth Street drain.
Mr Roe stated that the Garden Club waxa'was to meet in the
Community Buildi;ng the First Thursday evenings each month.
Mr Cole presented Zoning map and copies of ordinances which are
to ,be studies and brought up at the next meeting.
Motion made by Mr Brice seconded by Mr Thompson that the bills
be paid when funds are available. Motion carried.
Motion made by Mr Nash seconded by Mr Brice that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
