MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT
CITY HALL TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1947. '7:30 P. M.

Meeting was called to ~ der by the President R. M. Castner.
Other Councilmen ,present were, J.V.Brice,A.M.Johnson, T. F.
Thompson and J. F. Macdonald~ A~so present were Mayor'W.H.
McQuistion, Attly T. C. Cork, City Engineer A. G. Cole, Water
Sup't H.M.Cole; St Suplt J.B.Fullwood and City Auditor
w. T. Williams.
Miss Agnes Johnson asked the Council if the City ordinance
covering Communicable Diseases Can be enforced. This to be
taken care of.
Mr Beals'and Mr Denslow protest Occupational License Fee on
small packing houses. Mr Cork advised that as long as Mr Beals
packed only what-fruit he raised, he would n~ have to pay
for this License.
Mr H. L~ Brown, speaking fora number of Citizens of Clermont
asks the Council if the Conteact with the Parking Meter Co.
states on which streets' these meters were to be placed. Mr
Cork advises What it does.
Boes the Contract specify on what date or period of time? Is
advised that the time is December 10, 1947.
Is it possible for the Council' to defer installation of these
Meters to give the Citizens time to vote on it? Mr Cork
advises not.
The Contract and the cancellation clause was read. Mr Brice
made a motion seconded by Mr Johnson that Mr Cork write a
letter asking the Meter People to cancel the contract,' stating
the views ef the citizens, and that the Retail Merchants were:
Dilling to pay-the freight returning the Meters tCD the Factory.

Mr Smith representing the V. F. W. stated they have a Charter
to hold a Fair and Festival for South Lake County. 'Motion .
made by Mr Brice, seconded by Mr Macdonald City remit License.
Motion carried.
Mr Boyd-presented a'letter asking City t& sell Mr Fulle~, of
Orlando, and X,G. I., lots '74 and 75, Clermont Hts. Request
cannot be !anted until Right or Way or the New Highway, can
be secured ity Clerk to si~n purchase order for Cas8 Tractor
Mewer and .weeper with the lorida Equipment Company.
Motion made by Mr Johnson seconded by Mr Mcdonald that A. G. Cole
continue 0n devoting full t,1me as City Engineer and Building
Inspector with-an increase in salary of $100. per month ~r0m
November 1st to January 1st, 1948. Motion carried.
A motion was made by MrBrice seconded by Mr Thompson that Mr
McQuistion arid Mrs. 'Barnes arrange with Mr House to assist in
City Hall part time each month. Motion oarried.
