Meeting was called to order by the president, R.M.
Castner, other Councilmen present being J.V.Brice, A.M.
Johnson, J.F.Macdonald, and T.F.Thompson. Also present were
Mayor W.H.McQuistion, City Attorney T.C.Cork, City Engineer
A.G.Cole, Water Supt. H.M.Cole, St. Supt. J.3.Fullwood,
City Clerk R.F.House, City Auditor W.T.Williams, and Mrs.
Y.H.Barnes.

Yr. Williams suggested starting the Annual Audit and
bringing thr books up t.o date, and completing it at the
end of the fiscal year. :r.T. Williams was directed by the
Council to bring the books up to date.
Vr. ~~cdonald made a motion that the matter of an
Ordinance levying a Utility Tax be tabled indefinitely, but
tpere was no second.
Mr. Brice made a motion, that the Budget be accepted as
revised at the last meeting. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Macdonald, and when put to a vote, the motion carried.
Mr. Brice tna dG a motion that the City Attorney draw up
an Ordinance, setting the millage of the Tax Levy at eleven
mills for debt Service, and fourteen mills for operating
expenses, a total of twenty-five mills. The motion was
seconded by y~. Macdonald, and when put to a vote, the motion
carried.
The City Clerk was ins~ructed to write the County School
Superintendent to stop the loading and unloading of scho'l
buses on Second Street in front of the school-house, on aeeoun
of the dangerous tr~:~l~c~~~itions.
Clerk to write South La~ Construc'ion Co. for use of
bulldozer around Center Lake.
The Lake County Chaber of CODlerce asked that the
Council na.e a director to that body, so N"lI". Brice was
nemtdated for director, and Mr. MgQuistion as Alternate,
and the City Clerk to notify' the Secretary at Tavares.
The matter of a drinking fountain for the City Hall
was discussed, and Mr. Castser said he would get prices.
R.M.Cole reported that he and Albia Sheldon attended
the Fire College held at Ocala, and that they learned .any
things about methods and equipment for fi~hting fires.
He expl4ned the advantage of using two Ii lines of hose
rather than one 2i" line. Mr. Johnson ~1'.P ,motion, ~o::..~.-,~.....~_-:-.
by Mr. Thompson and carried, that ~e;,o~- be authorized
to buy 500 ft of Ii" hose and necessan fittings.
;.~. McQuistion had named Wm Kie for Night POlice, and
the Council agreed that his pay should be $150.00 per month.

carried, thatR.F.House be released as City Clerk, and Mrs.
Barnes be appointed as City Clerk at $200.00 per month, as
soon as Mr. Williams can check the books to dat~, and
Surety Bond for Mrs. Barnes arranged, and R.F.House Bond
cancelled.
