MINUTES OF A SPECISL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL 'HELD
AT THE CITY HALL TUESDAY, JULY 29, 1947, 7:30,P.,M.

The Meeting was called to order by

Oscar Rudd was present and asked permission to haul
~~nd out of the bottom ,of the Garbage Pit. 'After some
discussion, Mr. Thompson madea motion, seconded by Mr.
Macdonald and carried, that Mr. Rudd be 'granted th4s per-
mission, and that he pay ,the City 25~per yard, payable
each week, for all sand taken.
Mr. Brice came in at 8:25.
There was some discussion of the insurance in
Policeman Pott's Acccident, and bills from the Doctor
amounting to $515.00, and from the Hospital for $233.11
were prsented, and. turned over to Mayor McQu~stion to
handle with the Insurance Co.
The Council Had asked H.M.Cole to get bifis on 2 tires
for the Police car, and Judy's was the lowest submitted.
Mr. Macdonald made a motion, seconded by Mr. Thompson, that
the two tires be bought from Mr. Judy. When put to a vote,
the motion carried.
There was some discussion of a Municipal Judge,
authorized by the last Legislature, and Mr-.. Brice made a
moion, seconded by Mr. Macdonald and carried,' that the Ci"jy
employ a Municipal Judge at $$.00 per week. '
There WaS some talk about the City Attorney, also
about the need of some ondinance to prevent cars from
being worked on , on tbestreets, and also parking them
on some streets.
The Street Committee was asked to check up on street
patching, and Mr. Brice, Chairman of the Street Committee,
said he would look into the matter.
H.M.Cole was instructed to buy two or three truckloads
of rock from C.E.SUllins, as tp.is was much better matteria1
than we have been getting for street work.
There being no further business at this time, the
Council adjourned, to meet at the call 06 the, president.
