MINUTES OF THEREGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
AT TEE CITY HAL TUESDAY, JUNE 17, 1947, 7: 30 P. M.
The meeting was called to order by the president R?M.
Castner, other Councilmen present being A.~1.Rohnson, ~.F.
Macdonald, and T .F.Thompson. Also present were Mayor
W.H.McQuistion, 1~rshal C.E.Sullins, Atty T.C Cork, City
Engineer A.G.Cole, St Supt. JB.Ful~ood, Water Supt H.M.Cole,
and City Clerk R.F.House.
Robert Free asked the Council for pIt of grouna between
the Railroad and Lake Minneola, west of Pomona Products Co.
between Second and r~ird Streets. He woukd like a 5-year
lease, with privelege of buying at the end of that time.
The matter was postponed until the next meeting.
Mr. McLendon rl'J8.de a bid of $37.50 for two sets cf forms
for ma~ing concrete kB<<kaa benches. Mr. Macdonald made a
motion, seconded by ~~. Thompson, and carried, to have Mr.
McLendon make the forms.
The City Atty reported that the bills to increase the
City limits, and to have a Municipal Judge had both passed
the Senate, but he had not heard from thr House. He aloo
stated that the injunction aginst the City Officials for
disposing of a city lot to C.E.Sullins, would come before
the Court next week.
Mr. Fe'. guson brought up the IDa tter of the odor at his
house, caused, he said by Mr. Bullins Chickens, and the
City Atty told him he had rlecourse to law if it was causing
a nuisance. The Council and Mayor agreed to go down and
look the situation over the next morning.
H.M.Cole WaS authorized to get Mattioda to put in the
conrete floor;! for the City Garage at the end of West Ave.
A.G.Cole brought up the matter of lights on the City
dock at the north end of 8th St. E.T.Brantly had offered
to put up two floodlights, furnishing e'rerything if the
City would furnish two poles. Mr. Macdonald made a motion
seconded by Mr. Thompson that the City have the lights
installed, and when put to q vote" the motion carried,

STOP signs erected on DeSoto St at Eighth St.

There waS some discussion of a UtllityTax, but nm
action taken.
The City Clerk was instructed to write Henry
Shepard, C.P.A., Box 414. Eustts, to find out what his
fee would be to make the annual audit of the City Books.
A.G.Cole asked the Council if it would be alright
to have his son help him @ .50 per hour, to which the
Council agreed.
