. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CI'lY COUNCiL HELD AT THE CITY HALL
TUESDAY, April 22, 1947, 7:30 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by president R.M.
Castner at 7:40, who stated.tha the purpose of the meeting
was to discuss a ball field.
Other Councilmen present were J.V.Brioa, A.M.Johnso~, J.F.
Macdonald, and T.F.Thompson. Mayor McQuistion, City Atty
T.C.Cork, Water Sutp H.M.Cole, st Supt J.B.Fullwood, City
Engineer A.G.Cole, and City Clerk R.F.House were ,also present.
A le tter from each of the following was read: Bowman
& Brown Co, Mrs Sakolas, and Mrs Peterson. Bob Attkisson
talked about the advantages of a ball field to the City, and
stated that the Ball Association was planning to spend about
$10,000 on blocks 5 & 6 if proper arrangements could be made
with the City.
Mr. Brice made a motion which was seconded by Mr.
Macdonald, that the organizers of a non-profit organization
be given a 20-ya ar 1e ase on bloo ks 5 & 6 of the City for
purposes of a ball park and other recreational facilities
as outlined; the contract to~avm up by the City Attorney.
When put to a vote, the motion carrie d.
After same discussion aqout qui~ing title to City-owned
