01-28-1947 Special Meeting SPECIAL MEETING OF TIm CI1~ COUNCIL HELD AT THE CITY HALL TUESDAY, January 28, 1947. '7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by president R.M.Castner, other councilmen present being J.V.Brice, A.M.Johnson, J.F. Macdonald, a,nf T .F.Thomps on. Marshsl C .E. Sullins , City Engineer A.G.Cole, Water Supt H.M.Cole, St. Supt. J.B.Fu11wood, and City Clerk R.F. House, were also present. Burke Chester and Dr. Dalton, from the Count-y Hea:1th Department were present als o. _.~ ~ S. H. Dowd~ who had started construction of a building on lots 8-10, b1k 129, Indian Hills complained that A.G.Co1e had stopped his building. The Matter was turned over to the Building Committee, Brice, Macdonald, and Thompson, who agreed to go out and look at the place with A.G.Co1e on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. Wm L. Webb stated that A.G.Co1e had stopped his building on lots 8-10, b1k 130, Indian Hills. Aland had drawn plans, but they did not suit Webb, so he did not pay for them, and he said Aland said he would take the lots if Webb did not pay." Webb was told that the City did not have juridiction over case. W. M. Cooper 'asked for a Liquor License in his new bllilrU,-,t' City Attorney Irving Morse came in about 8:40 and stated that the Government would advance $9400 for Sewage Disposal plans. After some discussion, Macdonald made a motion, 50:C~=: ed by Johnson that a motion made at the Meeting Aug. 21, 1946 be amended to correctly read "Mr. Irving Morse b~esignated Corresponding Agent to represent the City in Pre1im1:-nary Survey of the proposed sewer system for the Ci ty of Clermont". When put to a vote, the motion carried. Several Members of the Clermont Welfare League came in, a.nd Irving Morse outlined the beginning of the Clinic building and submitted a proposal to form a Hospital BOard, suggesting membership of ~ard and By-laws to control it. The matter was tabled by the Council until the Meeting Feb. 4th, at which time Burke Chester said he could bring ~e papers, showing the Original W.P.A. Project. Tne Welfare League assured the Council they wanted to co-operate with them in tho plans for operation of the Hospital.
