MINUTES OF REGULAR t.iJEETING OF 'rI-lE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT T1ili CITY
HALL TUES DAY, DECEMBER 3rd, 1946, 17:30 P.M.
~e meeting was called to order by the ~resident, F.B.Roe,
t' Councilmen present being H.C.Brown, ~C.lJ'J.Gaines, A.M.
~ ~~on, and J. F. Macdonald. ~layor W. H. ~f,cQuisti<?n, Marshal
C~E.sullins, City Attorney Irving F. Morse, City Engineer A.G.
Cole, and St Supt J.:S. Fullwood were also present.
Minutes of the meetings Nov. 5, Nov. 8, and Nov 20, were
read and approved.
Mr. Gaines made a motion, seconded by 1~. Johnson and
carried, that Delinquent Tax Note No.799 in the amount of
$2,850.00, owned by the City, be cancelled.
Mayor McQuistion's Report was read. He sta~ed ~~er$~95.00
were 21 arrests, and fines and forfeitures amount1ng
co1lected and turned over to the,City Clerk.
Marshal SulJ.ins report cantained the same information
as the Mayor's.
Fire enief Cole reported four fire calls during Nov.,
ith very little damacre done. Small battery was changed
;ro~ Fire truck to St;eet Truck, an~ a large battery put din
the Fire Truck. Fire Extinguishers were used twice an
recharged and put back on the truck.
Engineer Cole reported that ,he had examined the road
in Johnson's Replat put in By Wolfe, and that it was clayed
in accordance with the Contract.
Mr. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mr. Macdonald, and
~arried, that H.F.Bailey be given a Lake Front Lease on lots
1-2-3, blk 47.
For the Annual City'Election to be held Tuesday Dec 10,
~T. Gaines made a motion, seconded by Mr. Macdonald that all
petitions for nomination filed with the City Clerk, be"
accepted, and ballots prepared, with all names thereon.'
All Electors on last years list be allowed to vote as well as
all new registrations; and the City Attorney to put notice
in the Clermont Press.
Mr. Wm Strehl or asked for a water meter deposit refund
and the City Clerk was instructed to look the matter up and
make the refund if it was due Mr. Strehlor.
A letter from Geo Herrlinger, requesting a Street Light
at the corner of Chestnut and Holly Streets was read.
r~. Johnson made amotion, seconded by r~. Macdonald, and
carried, that a light be installed there in~~~der that lights
have been requested of the Florida Power Co., as soon as
possible.

The bid of the Florida/Tractor & Truck Co. of $500.65
for a dmnp body for the Water Truck was approved, and the
City Clerk was to notify their agent, so the order could be
placed and filled as soon as possible.
There was some ~discussion of free licenses to War
Veterans; and J.F.Macdonald was instructed to find out
about it.

The Florida League of Municipalities is l~ving a
meeting Dec. 17th in Leesburg, and Mayor McQuistion, and
Councilmen Floyd Roe and H.C.Brown stated they would attend.
Mr. Macdonald made a motion~ seconded by I~. Brown that
the City Crew erect a Christmas ~ree up town as usual, proviBd
arrangements for the lights could be made with the F.P.C.
H. M. Cole to oversee it.
The IDa tter of a caretaker for the Community Building in
Kehlor Park was left with Mayor McQuistion.

Mr. Gaines made a motion that the following bills be palid
when money is available. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Macdonald, and when put to a vote, the motion carried.
Mr. Gmnes made a motion, seconded by Mr. JOhnson, that
the Council go into Executive Session. The motion carried,
and all present except the Council, Mayor, City Attorney, and
City Clerk 'left the room.
The Council then adjourned.
