MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF '!'HE CITY COUNCIL HELD
AT THE CITY HALL TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1946, 7 :30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Vice-president H.C.
Brown, other Councilmen present being C.W.Gaines, Albert M.
Johnson, amd J .F.Macdona1d. Mayor McQuiSi ion, City Attorney
Irving F. Morse, Marshall C.E.Su11ins, City Engineer Alfred G.
Cole, Street & Water Supt. H.M.Cole, J. B. Fullwood, and City
Clerk R.F.House, were also present.
Minutes of the meeting August 21st were read and approved.
Mayors report was read, in which he stated there were
13 cases in Mayor's Court, 3 cases dismissed, and fines and
Forfeits amounting to $125.00 collected and turned over to
the City Clerk.
The -Marshall's report was in agreement with the Mayor's.

The City Engineer, A.G.Cole submitted a report ofAactivities
the month.

Harry Hilton was present, and asked the Council to change
blocks 52, 53, and A,B,C,D,E, Sunset Heights from a R-1 Zone
to a .-1 Zone. He was instructed to bring in a petition
signed by a ~jority ot the property owners in the blocks
affected, andadjacent to it.
T. C. Cork asked the City to oancel paving lien on a pieoe
of property formerly owned by the Montverde School. The Ci tr
Clerk and City Attorney were instructed to look 1nto t e matter
and report at t1Le next meeting.
Aletter from the Florida Power Corp. to Water Supt Cole
about the starting switches athe pump was read.
Atter some discussion, Mr. Gaines made a motion, seconded
by Mr. Johnson, that R.M.Castner be authorized to paint the
COmmtlnity Bu,ilding in Kehlor Park. The motion oarried.
The proposal of B.B.McCormick Roofing Co. to make and
install 6 louvers made of galvanized iron and 2 1eaderheads
with necessary drain pipes tor the sum of$288.50 was read, and
Mr. Johnson made a motion, which Was seconded by ltYr. Gaines _+~

A letter from the American Legion, thanking e City
for cleaning up the street leading to the Legion Center was read.
There was some dieo*ssion of dividing work between H.M.
Cole abd J.B.JUllwood. Mr. Johnson made a motion, which was
seoonded by Mr. Gaines, and carried, that H.M. Cole have
charge ot Water, Parks and Cemetery, at his present salar,y ot
$40.00 per week; and that J .B.li'u.llwood bave charge ot the
Streets and Garbage at a salar,y ot $40.00 per week.
Fullwood was instruoted! to fU the road past the Roegains
Packing Plant.
The budget submitted last meeting was accepted, and the
millage levied to be Interest & Sinking Fund 11, Operating Expense,
13 mills, Capital Reserve, 1 mill.
Mr Gdnes made a motion, seconded by Mr Johnson and
carrie d, that the following list ot bills be pa iel when f'unds are a.,

Sterlllzed dishes, T, B. and ven-
ereal tests etc. are worthwhile
steps toward a sanitary program
but what good are they as long as .
