REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT THE CITY HALL
WEDNESDAY, JULY 1?, 1946, 1:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Vice-president
H. C. Brown, other members present being C.W.Gaines, A.M.
Johnson, and J.F.Macdona1d. Mayor McQuistion, vity
Engineer A.&.Co1e, St. & Water Supt. H.M.Co1e, and Clty
Clerk R.F.House were also present.
Mr. Winger was present, and asked that smething be
done to the road on Disston Street between Minnehaha Ave.
and Almond St. Street Supt. Cole was instructed to put
some clay in.
The City ,Clerk reported that on June 21th a check was
received from the U.S.Govennment in the amount of $1604.46
for damage to the City Streets by the Armr.
There was some discussion of' the Sewer problem, and the
Council wanted-until next regular meeting to find out about
financing the cost of survey with Government aid~
Engineer Cole reported a washout at the north end of
Eighth St., and that he had called the State Road Dept. to
get it fixed.
Wm Ct~oper asked Council to grant license for a
Colored Recreation Hall in Lincolu Park, with right to sell
bee r and wine, and soft drinks and sandwiehes, and also
operate a Dance Hall. The Council ~ferred action~
The Opinion of T.C.Cork on the Frisz Case was read.
Mr. Johnson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gaines, that,the
motion passed at the meeting July 2nd to appeal the Frisz
Case to the Florida Supreme Court, be rescinded. When put
to a vote, the motion carried.
Tb.ere being no further business at this time, the
meeting was adjourned, to meet at the call of the preseident.
