CITY OF CLERMONT
MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY CotmrCIL HELD AT CI: TY
HALL, TUESDAY, Jm~E 4, 1946, at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting was caL led to ordel'" by President F. B.
Roe, other Councilmen present being Mr. Brown, Mr. Mac-
donald and Mr. Johnson. Mayor McQuistion, Marshal Sullins,
City Engineer Al Cole, Supt. H. M. Cole, and Clerk R. F.
House were also present.
The minutes of the meetings held on May? and 15th
were r~ad and appr~d.
Mr. Brown reported that he had been unable to get
pes ts to put up "STOP" signs ~
Mr. Johnson agreed to see Mr. Moore about finim ing
repa:1r s on windows in the City Hall.
A motion was made by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Johnson,
that the downstairs rooms of the City Hall be refinished, re-
decorated and necessary repairs made to cover partition with
wallboard.
The matter of some pi ving and taxes delinquent through
error was turned over to the Laws and Ordinances Con~ittee,
Mr. Macdonald, Mr. Brown and Mr. Johnson.

The subject of Central Truck Lines blocking streets
while unloading was brought up and Al Cole is to get information
for alleys through Blocks 80, 81, 91 and 92, City.
The Laws and Ordinances Committee, Mr. Macdonald, Mr.
Brown and Mr. Johnson, was appointed with City AttornGW Morse
to study the Zoning Ordinance with view to revisi ng it and
to roport at the next meeting.
Marshal Sull~nswas directed to get paint and repaint
parking lines.
JY~ayor McQuistion reported the t during the month of May
there were 21 arrests and fines collected of $220.00.
Marshal Sullins' repo rt was read and a;') proved .

Fire Chief Cole reported one fire ca 11 and one fire
drill during the month of May.
A letter from the Kiwanis Club about the Park on.
Chrystal Lake was read. A motion was made by Mr. Johnson,
seconded by Mr. Macdonald, that the Kiwanis Club be leased
triangular park East of Block 25, City, for five years for
$1.00 fee with no buildings to be erected and to be called
"Kiwanis 'Park". The City Attorney is to draw up the lease.
The motion carried.
A moti on was made by Mr.' Brown, seconded by Mr,., Mac-
donald, that Al Cole be reimbursed $6.00 eXP~r~~~n~n lal1a-
hassee trip last week. ~~~
Mayor McQuistion reported a meeting~ June ~at C~ty
Hall of orga~ization)to plan for good will tour from Orlando
June 18th. All Councilmen present said they wculd attend.

Jim Macdonald, for a committee from the Boosters Club,
asked for a summer recreation program, the City to pay coae1\.s
salary through the summer. Mr. Macdonald is. to find au t
proposed program and cost and report as soon as possible.
A motion was made by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Johnson,
tbat the bills on the attached sheet be paid when the money
is available.

There being no fnmther business to come before the
Council, Mr. Johnson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Macdonald,
that the meeting adjourn to meet again on Wednesday, June 19,
1946, at 7:30 p.m.
