MINUTES OF ADJOffiNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT CITY HALL,WEDNESDAY,MAY 15, 1946, at 7:30 p.m.

The minutes of the previou's meeting were read and
approved.
Mr. Brown said that Mr. Stokes had asked about tax
no tic es of several pe ople . Mr. Morse was asked to look
these up and report at the next meeting.
Mr. Johnson said that Smith & Gill~spie had been noti-
fied that the. Council had accepted proposal made by Smith
& Gillespie on sewerage matter. In a letter to Mr. Morse,
Smith & Gillespie 'said that they would get work under way
at once but that they needed.a City map. A motion was made
by Mr. JOhnson, seconded by fur. Macdonald, that Mr. Morse
get one map.
Mr. Nash asked about the' assessment roll and said that
property sold prior to January 1, '1946, should be on this
year's roll and the valuation Should be in proportion to
other lots. Mr. Nash also suggested a 15 or 20% flat in-
crease in assessments. Mr. Brown, Mr. Macdonald, Mr. Jolmson,
and Mr. Roe were all in favor of this plan. Mr. Nash said
he would try to have the assessment roll for the June meeti:ri5.

A. G. Cole presented a tracing of W. W. Boyd Resub-
division of Lot 5, Herring Hooks Plat, and.the Councii said
it would be acceptable if Tract 5 was dedicated to the City
for park purposes.
A motion was made by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Johnson,
that the City Attorney prepare a resolution t~~t East Avenue
be closed between Orange Avenue and Lake Shore Drive, and
the Pomona Products Company be given use of tt but without
any cOns truction on property. The motion carried.
Bill was presented by Bowman & Brown Company for lots
on L~ce Minneola from Takahashi plus three lots, amounting
~o $749.44 Which was o~dered paid November 6, 1945.
A letter WaS presented from Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Harris
asking their names be removed from petition for rezoning.
With reference to the petition of Frisz to rezone
Block 121 to C-l area, a motion was made by Mr. MaCdonald,
seconded by Mr. Brown, that the Council take favorable action
qn ~he petition to put this in C-l area and also put Blocks

137-138-139-140-141 and 142 in Cl area as proposed by the
Jaycees and Boosters' Club, and tha t the City Attorney Morse
. draw up resolution and advertise the amendment to the Zoni~
Ordinance in accordance With the provisions of Ordinance 48.
There being no turther business, .lI'lr. Macdonald made a
motion, seconded by r. Brown, to adjourn to meet again at
the ca 11 of the Pre s ident .
