MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY CGJ NCIL OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT HELD AT CITY HALL, 7;30 pjW. 2 April 1946.
~he meeting was eal1ed to order by its president, Mr. Roe. Present
were Councilmen Roe, ~rown, McDonald, Johnson, ~~~~ Mayor Mc-
Quistion, Mr. H. M. Cole, G. E. Sullins, A1 Cole and Mr. Irving
Morse were also present. Visitors were Mr. Ham Jones, L. D. Simon-
~on, and a Mr. Wolfe.
~he minutes of previous meetings were read by the City Clerk.
Mr. McDonald made a motion, seconded by Mr. Johnson that the
Council meet on the 1st. Tuesday and the 3rd. Wednesday of each
month hereafter for regular meetings and the meeting of the 1st.
Tuesday would adjourn to the meeting to be held on the 3rd. Wed-
nesday. The motion carried.
Mr. Johnson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Brown, that the
regular midFmonth meeting on the 3rd. Wednesday be and EXECUTIVE
meeting. The motion carried.
Mr. Ham Jones, speaking for an Engineoring Company headed by
Mr. L. D. Simonson of Orlando, discussed the need, for a new city
map and the need for additional engineering to be done by the city.
Mr. Roe instructed Mr. Jones that such work was under consideration.
Mr. Alfred Cole then discussed the s'ame problems with Council.
Mr. MeDona1a: made R. motion, seconded by Mr. Br-own, that the
9th. grade Science class of the <Yltermont-Miilmeala school be allow-
ed the use of a portion of the CIty Park around Spar~ling Water Lake
for a garden. The motion carried.
Mr. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mr. Johnson, that the City
accept the proposed Bett1ement of $1,604.46 by the OFFICE OF BIVISION
ENGIN}~ER, Atlanta, Georgia per letter to the City of Clermont dated I

Mr. MeDona1d introduced an Ordinance entitled -- liNn Ordinance
AMENDING SECTION 4 OF CHAPTER xv11 OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF CLERMONTj LAKE COUNTY, FIDffiIDA: CREATING THE OFFICE
OF BUILDING INSPECTOR; PRO~IDING FOR APPOINT~lliNT OF A BUILDING IN-
SPECTOR; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MArrTERS RELATING THERETO, which was
read in full. Mr. McDonald then moved the adoption of the Ordinance
which was seconded by Mr. Johnson, ~nd when put to a vote, the
motion carried. Mr. McDonald then moved ~hat the rules be waived,and
the Ordinance read the second time by its title only. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Johnson and carried unanimously. After the
second reading, Mr. McDonald moved that the rules be further waived
and that the Ordinance be read the third time and placed on its
passage. The motion was sec'onded by Mr. Johnson and carried unani-

same, the roll was called with the following results: Ayes
Brown, Roe, Johnson, and McDonald. Noes - none. Absent-Gaines.
So the Ordinance passed" title aa stated, and was ordere d intr

Mr. :grown introduced an Ordinance entitled _!IAN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT AND INSPECTION CF
BUILDINGS IN THE CITY OF CLERMONT AND TO BE KNOWN AS THE BUILD2
CODE OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT: PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATING
THEc1ETO: PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE
ORDINANCE", which was read in full. Mr. Brovvn then moved for the
adoption of the Ordinanc~e which was seconded by Mr. McDonald, and
when put to a vote, the motion carried. Mr. grown then moved that
the rules be waived, and the Ordinance read the second time by its
title only. The motion was seconded by Mr. M~Donald and carried
unanimously. After the second reading, Mr. Brown moved that the
rules be ffUrther waived and that the Ordinance be read the third
time and placed on its passage. The motion was seconded by Mr.
McDonald and- ~arried unanimously. The reuponthe Ordinance was
read in full and upon passage of Rame, the roll was called with.
the following results: Ayes-Brown, Roe, Johnson, and Me Donald.
Noes - none. Absent - Gaines. So.the Ordinance passed, title
as stated, and was ordered into the Ordinance Book and numbered

A motion by Mr. McDonald that the Zoning Ordinance as pre-
sented by the Booster ~lub be adopted. The motion died for lack
of a second.
A motion by Mr. McDonald, seconded by Mr. Brovvn that the
bill shown as payable be paid as money is available. The
motion carried.
A motion by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Johnson, that the
meeting be adjourned to meet again on the third Wednesday of the
month. The motion carried.

AMENDMENT TO MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
AT THE CITY HALL MARCH 5, 1946, 7:30 P.M.
Attorney Morse had prepared a resolution requesting the
State Road Department to change the designation and location
of Roads 22 nad 55 in the City of Clermont to Minneola Avenue
farm Twelfth Street to Eighth Street and thence North on
Eighth Street as now located. Motion was duly made, seconded
and passed that the Resolution be adopted. A copy of the
Resolution follows the minutes of this meeting.
