'l'hese 1vore inspected and Mr. staclDlouse made a motion, secoYlded by Mr. Castner, that the members of the Council sbould go ' oVor tho old registration book and delete names of those p orsons no longor living in the City of Cle rmont or of those deceased, etc. Vice President Brown called an adj ourrrrnent of tlJ.:if.: mee.t ing for noxt Friday, Se,;>tember 21, 1945, at 8:00 p.m. at which time the registratio"l books ~ill be brought up to date. 'The City Attorney cal:.ed attention to a bill passed at the last session cf' the Legislature whereby a city rl~ay imposo a tax upon any utility. There was a lengthy discussion but no definite action was taken. ~ ~ A group o~colored men were prtsent to ask that the City put in ~ street lights in 'incoln fark. After some discussion with the local Florida Power Corporation's ~an, Mr. Pressley, it was agreed that when 25 houses in Lincoln Park were wired and ready for lights, the Florida Power Corpo ation would run a line out there and the City would furn:i.sh the s-.t-x stroet lights. ~\ lSr. GA, ine s then int roduced an Ordinance enti tIed "AN ORDINA.WC~ FROVIIING A T.I\.X LEVY on ?ROP:sRTY IN THE CITY OF CIERMCHT FOR 'IRE YEAR 1945; l")HOVIDING A BUDGZT OF EXPE"NSES FOR TT-TE FISCAL TIAR 1945-46 AND t:AKING APPROPRIf,TIONS THEREFOR" which was read in full. 111". Mr. Brown read a letter from Mr. W ~ p. Frisz in which a bid of $75.00 waS submitted ror LOts 5 and 6, Block l2l~ After some discussion, it was decided that the City Clerk should write a letter to Mr. Frisz rejeoting his bid but stat- ing that he maY' buY' the lots ror the original prioe of $50.00 eaoh.
