~flINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
AT THE CITY HALL, FRIDAY, APRIL 6, 1945, AT 7:30 p~m.

A special moeting of the City Council of the City
of Clermont was held on April 6, 1945. The meeting was
called to order by President F. B. Roe, other Councilmen
present being C. W. Gaines, R. M. Stackhouse, and H. C.
Brown. Mayol~ F. H. Hi~by, City Attorney Irving F. Morse,
City Clerk W. H. McQuistion, Chief of Police sullins and
Superintendent of Water Cole were also present~
A motion was made by Mr. Brown, seconded by Mr.
Gaines, that the valuation on the property of David Boyd-
Smith be correct0d to (~1275 instead of $1750. The City
Attorney was ins tructed to writ e a le tter to Mr. Boyd-Smith
oxplaining the error. The moti on carried.
A motion was made by Mr. BrOwn, seconded by Mr.
Stackhouse, that application for a liquor license by Henry
Rhodes be declined. The motion carried. '
A moti on was made by Mr. Bro\'V!1, soco nded by Mr. Gai ne s,
that all property acquired from the Trustees of the Internal
Improvemmt FUnd be advertised in the Clermont Press for one
month and opposite each parcel be sha<<n the minimum bid ac-
ceptable; such bids be sealed and opened by the City Council
at their r0@.llar meeting and accepted or rejected; no abstracts
or title insurance be furnismd and tm successful bidder pay
cost of recording deed by the City. Tho roll call vote was
asfollows: Mr. Brown - Yes; Mr. Gaines - Yes; Mr. Roe - Yes.
Mr. Stackhouse - Yes. Mr. castner - absont.
A motion was made by Mr. Gaines, seconded by Mr.
Brown, that the deeds formerly made up for property sold
previous to the above Resolution be accepted and the deods
delivered to purchasers. Too motion carried.
The re being no f"Ur'ther busiIl...8 ss to come before the
Council, tho meeting adjourned to meet again at the call
of the President.
