CITY OF CLERMONT
MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT THE
CITY HALL FRIDAY, JULY 21st, 1944, 7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by President F. B. Roe,
other Councilmen present being R. M. Castner, F. H. Higby,
and R. M. Stackhouse. City Attorney Ir~ing F. Morse, and
City Clerk R. F. House, were also present.
There was considerable discussion of applications for
building permits by Mr. Kern. Mr. Kern came in and an
agreement was reached as to what he should do, after which
the Council agreed to issue the per-m1ts.
Mr. Castner made a motion that the Marshal notiry Mr. Scott
that the trash pile back of his store will be moved Wednesday
at his expense. The motion was seconded by Mr. Higby, and
when put to a Tote~ the motion carried.
Mr. Stackhouse made a motion that the City sell Mr. C. B.
Pierce all of Palm Gardens at a price of $150.00. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Higbt, and when put to a vote, the motion
carried.
Mr. Stackhouse made a motion, that after a survey of the
preliminary Assessment roll, it appeared that 25 mills would be
sufficient for this year, and that the 1eTy be set at the
regular meeting in September. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Higby, and on roll call the following resulted; Ayes-
Castner, Roe, Higby, Stackhouse; Noes-none'; absen~-Gaines.
There being no further business at this time, the
Council adjourned, to meet at the call of the presidemt.
