07-06-1944 Regular Meeting ~ .., CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT THE Cl'n HALL TH11RSDAY, JULY 6, 1944, 4: 10 P. M. The meeting was called to order by president F.B.Roe, other CQuncilmen present being C.W.Gaines, F.R.Rigby, and R. M. S ackhouse. R.M.Castner C8me in a few minutes later. Mayor H~C.Brown, Assessor G.A.Nash, Marshal C.E.Sullins, and City Clerk R.F.House were also present. Minutes of the meeting'June 6th were read and approYed~ Mayor Brown reported two cases in police court, with fines and costs amounting to $26.00 assessed. He stated tha t he had discontinued the serTices or the night police after the soldiers had left. He also ~tated that Mrs. Gibson had asked about an unpaid claim Mr. Gibson had against the City. Mr. Hoe stat ed that this claim had been perman- ently tabled. Marshal Sullins reported two aRrests and fines and costs of $26.00 collected and turned OTer to the City Clerk. Mr. Brown asked permission to remOTe two liTe oaks in his parkway, and replace them with two water oaks; and permiSSion was granted by the Council. There was considerable discussion of building permits; and the building committee took action on the applications presented. ~ ., The following bills were approTed; andordered Paid when money is available, 2880.
