06-06-1944 Regular Meeting CI'l'Y OF CLERMONT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT THE CITY HALL TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 194., 7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by president F. B. Roe, other Councilmen present being C.W.Gaines, F.H.Higby, and R.M.Stackhouse. City Attorney IrTing Morse, Marshal C.E.Sullins, street & Water Supt. H.M.Cole, and City Clerk R.F.House were also present. ~ ,., Minutes of the meetings May 2nd and 13th were read and approTed. Mr. Higby made a motion that C.W.Gaines be authorized to put an ad in the Clermont Press for the next four issues, offerIng the Fr~e and ChardeToyne groTes for sale by the City. The motion was seconded by Mr. Stackhouse, and when put to a Tote, thw motion carried. Mr. Stackhouse, chairman of the Street Committee, recommended that all trees in the street right of way in Cooper Lane, Lincoln Park Annex, be remoTed as soon as a surTeyshows where the street lines are. Mr. Higby made a motion %kEk endorsing the action of the Street Committee about taking up the trees and haTing a surTey made. There was no second to the motion. Marshal Sullins reported three arrests-bo4ds forfeited fines and costs collected amounting to $78.00 turned OTer to the City Clerk. Fire Chief Achord reported one fire call for the month, and the engine checked each week and found O.K. C. W. Gaines was authorized to sell the remaining fruit on the Frame & ChardeToyne groTes for the city. In order to operate more effioiently, Street Supt. Cole was directed to to take orders for all work done by him and his crew from Mr. Stackhouse onlYe Mr. Higby made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gaines and carried, that the bills listed on the following page be approTed a~ paid when money is aTailable.
