Ho called spocial attent~on to tho need of a Curfew ordinance; to the ownership of property around the lakes between the highways and water line; to tho need of an inter-racial cor~tlittee to adjust problems arising between the white and colored peoplc; to a reconsideration of the wages paid City omployes; and tho noed of additional police to havo 24 hour servico. .'\ letter to Mayor Brown from J.C.Barr, and tho Hayor's answer to it were read by prosident Nagel. Mr. Higby mado a motion thatt he City Attorney prepare an ordinance setting a curfew hour when all persons under eighteen years of ago must bo off the streots unless accomp- anied by paront or e;aurdian. ThO motion was socondod by r-:r. Castner, and whon put to a vote, tho motion carrb d. tir. Roe mado a motion that tho City Attorney prepare an Act to take title to all lake front proporty from the street line and prosent same to the 1943 Legislature. The mot ion was seconded. by Hr. I-~igby, and Ylhen put to a vote, the motion carried. Higby made a motion that the president appo:tnt a committce, composed of tho Mayor and tv/o Councilmen to comsider tho matter ~fl adjustment of wages of City Employees in line with increasos in living costs and salary and wage increases in other linos of work; ThO motion was secondod by ~1r. Roe, and whe n put to a voto, tho motion carried. President Nagel appointed on this committee; Hr. H.C.Brown, I=r. F. H. Higby, and Hr. F. B. Roe. I'.ir. Higby made a moti, en, which was secondod by Mr. Gaines and carried, that the above named Committee also look into the matter of additional police, and roport at an adjourned meeting to be hold next week.
