CITY OF CLERMONT
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
AT THE CITY HALL TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1942, 8:00nP.M.
The meeting was called to order by vice-president
C. VI. Gaines, other Councilmen present being R. M. Castner
and R. V. Miller. MarshalR. ~ Anderson, Water Supt.
H. M. Cole, and City Clerk R. ~ House were also present.
Minutes of the meetings Nov. 3rd and 17th were read
and approved.

The Mayor's report was read, in which he stated that
there was one case in Mayor's Court, with fines and costs
amounting to ~$13.00 assessed, half of which had been collected.
He also asked that some action be taken to get some property
back on the tax roll which is now delinquent. The Council
decided to postpone action until the entire membership was
present, and the City Attorney was also here.
The Marshal reported one arrest and half the fine
collected.
The Street Supt. was instructed to clean up the
parkway and along the sidewalk on Seventh St. from Desoto
St to Broome St.
I'.ir. Castner made a motion that Homestead exemption
be denied \Vm Kern, as he had not lived in the house this
year. The motion was seconded by Mr. Miller, and wheh
put to a vote, the motion carried.
Mr. ,Miller made a motion that the BOY SCOUTS be given
the use of the Community Building each Friday night until
8:30 P.M.; and the High SdDol students have the use of
the building from 9:00 to 11:30 P.M. each Friday under the
supervision of the High School Principal. The motion was
secondedby Mr. Castner, and when put to a vote, carried.
On motion of Miller, seconded b~ Castner, the following
bills were approved and ordered paid when money is available:

There being no further business at this time, the
Council adjourrled to meet Dec 7th, 5 P.M. to check over the
bal~ots and papers for the election to be held the following
day.
