CITY OF CLERMONT
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT THE CITY HALL TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29,1942, 8:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by president Geo. Nagel,
other Councilmen present being R.M.Castner and G.J.Egan.
Mayor H.C.Brown, City Attorney Irving F. Morse, and City Clerk
R.F.House were also present.

Mr. Castner introduced an ordinance entitled " AJf ORDINl-
ANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATIONS AND USE OF BICYCLES ON THE'
PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT; PROVIDING FOR THE
REGISTRATION OF BICYCLES; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATED
THERETO; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVID-
iNG FOR THE REPEAL OF 0 RDINANCE NUMBER 32. II, which was read
in rull. Mr. Castner then moved its adoption, the motion
was seconded by Mr. NK~ Egan, and when put to a vote the
motion carried. Mr. Castner then moved that the rules be
waived, andthe Ordinance read the second time by its title
only. The motion was seconded by Mr. Egan, and when p'C1:h to
a vote the motion carried. Mr. Castner then moved that the
rules be further waived, and that the Ordinance be' read the
third time and placed upon its passage, which was seconded
by Mr. Egan, and'carried unanimously. Thereupon the Ordinanoe
was read in full, and upon passage of the same, the roll was
called with the following result: Ayes; Castner Egan,Nage1-
Noes;none-Absent Gaines,Mi1Ier. So the Ordinance passed,
title as stated, and was ordered recorded in the Ordihanee
Book and numbered Ordinance No.58. A copy of the Ordinance
in full'appears in this book, following the minutes of this
meeting.
Mr. Egan then introduced an ordinance entitled " AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A ZONE OR AREA IN WHICH COIN OPERATED
AMUSEMENT MACHINES MAY BE OPERATED; PROVIDING FOR A LICENSE
ON COIN OPERATED MACHINE; PROVIDING OTHER MATERS RELATED
THERETO; PROVIDING A PENALTY FO R VIOLATION THEREOF. II, which
was read in full. Mr Egan moved that the ordinance be
adopted, the motion was seconded by Mr. Castner, and when
put to a vote, the motion carried. Mr. Egan then moved that
the rules be waived, and the ordinanve read the second time
by its title only. The motion was seconded by Mr. Castner,
and when out to a vote, the motion carried. Mr. E~an then
moved that the rules be further waived, and that the ordinance
be read the third time and placed upon its passage, which w~
seconded by Mr. Castner, and carried unanimously. Thereupon
the Ordinance was read in full, and upon passage of the same
the roll was called with the following result,: Ayes- Castner,
Egan, Nagel; Noes-none; Absent-Gaines,Mi1Ier. So the Ordinance
passed, title as stated, and was ordered recorded in the
Ordinance Book and numbered Ordinance No. 59. A copy of the
Ordinance in full appears in this book following the minutes
of this meeting.
Mr. Castner intrcbduced an ordinance entitled" AN ORDIN.AtCE
ProVIDING A TAX LEVY ON PROPERTY OF THE: CITY OF CLERMONT FCR
THE YEAR 1942; PROVIDING A BUDGET OF EXPENSES F~ THE XEXHX
FISCAL YEAR 1942-1943 AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS THEREFORall,
which was read in full. Mr. Castner moved that the Ordinance
be adopted, the motion was seconded by Mr. Egam, and when put
to a vote, the motion carried. Mr. Castner then moved that
the rules be waived, and the ordiance read the second time
by its title only. The motion was seconded by Mr. Egan,
and when put to a vote, the motion carried." Mr. Castner
then moved thatt he rules be further waived, and that the
ordinance be read the third time and placed upon its passage,
which was seconded by Mr. Egan and carried unanimously.
Thereupon the ordinance uas read in full, and upom passage
of the same, 'the roll was 'called with the following'result:'
Ayes-Castner, Egan, Nagel; Noes-none; Absent-Gaines, Miller.
So the Ordinance passes, title as stated, and was oridered '
, recorded in the Ordinance Book and numbered Ordinance No.50.

Mr. Miller orfered a Resolution cbnfirming the
Assessment Roll and moved its adoption. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Castner, and on roll call the vote wa s as
ro1lows: Yes:Castner, Egan, Gaines, Miller, Nagel; Noes-none.
So the Resolution was adopted and a copy ro1lows the minutes
of this meeting.

Mr. Egan mad.e a motion that the license of Datson Dairies,Inco,
Orlando, Fla., as milk distributor be waived for this year,
as the milk is being distributed by a local man paying the
local license. The motion was seconded by Mr. Castner, and
when put to a vote, the motion carried.
