MINUTES OF 'rIfE REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL HEID AT 'TIlE CITY HALL TUESDAY, ~JNE 9, 1942, 8:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Vice-president C.W.
Gaines at 8:15, other Councilmen present being G.J.Egan, R.V.
Miller, and Geo Nagel. Mayor Brown, City Attorney Irving
Morse, Marshal G.B.EcCain, City Clerk R.F.House, and H.M.Cole
were also present.

lI/Ir. Uorse had prepared an ordinance ab out licensing and
regulating coin-operated machines, which was discussed at
length, and changes were recommended. Er. ~10rse was directed
to revise the ordinance and present it at the next meeting.
Mr. Martin, ropresenting the Florida Public Service Co.,
stated that the white way lights had been cut off, and that
proper adjustment would be made on the monthly bills. He
asked that the cable charge for the white way syste m be paid
by the City. This amounts to $18.00 per month. The Council
asked that two white way lights be left on at the corner of
Eighth and Montrose Streets, and two at the intersection of
Eighhh Street and Minneola Ave., an~1r. Martin agreed to see
if this could be done.
Councilman Harper came in about 9:30 and took the chair.
There WaS considerable discussion about an ordinance
regulating hours when intoxicating liquor might be sold but
no definite action taken.
A letter from a firm in Chicago was read, in which they
asked about payment on some old bonds held by a client of
theirs. The City Clerk was instructed to write them, offering
$250.00 Per bond.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned,
to meet at the call of the president.
