09-22-1941 Regular Meeting ~ CITY OF CLERMONT Minutes of the Regular Adjourned meeting of the City Council held at the City Hall Monday, September 22,1941,8:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by President O.O.Keene, other Councilman present were G.J.Egan, C.W.Gaines, H.R.Harper, and R.V.Mi11er. Other City officials present were Mapor R.C. Brown, City Attorney Irving F. Morse; Marshall G.H.McCain, and City Clerk R.F.House. Notice of- the meeting was read by the Clerk. Attorney Morse had prepared an Ordinance as requested by the Counoi1, which was read in rul1 by the City Clerk. There were about thirty-five Clermont Ci~zens present and President Keene asked anyone who wished to say anything in regard to the proposed ordinance, to do so at that time. Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Mrs. Ha~ry P. Brown, Mr.Harr,y P. Brown, Mrs. W.A.Stinson, J.E.Cummins,Rev.L.D.Lowe, Mrs. S.H.Sanger, Mrs. Fannie Shryock, Rev.W.R.McDuf'fie, Mr. Fred Anderson, and Mrs. Ruth Page, all propested the passage of the Ordinance. Mr. T.C.Cork spoke in faver of the Ordinance. MI!. Miller introduced the ordinanoe entitled "AN ORmINOCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 48 OF "THE CITY OF CLBRMONT, RELATING TO THE ZONING OF THE SAID CITY OF CLERMONT' AND KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE.", and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Mr. Egan, and when put to a vote, the motion carried. Mr. Egan then moved that the rules be waived, and the Ordinace read the second time by its" title only, which motion was seconded by Mr." Miller, and when put to a vote, the motion carried. Mr. Egan then moved that" the rules be further waived, and that the Ordinanoe be read the third time and placed upon its passage, which motion was seconded by Mr. Gaines and passed. Thereupon the Ordinance was read in ru11, and upon passage of same, the roll was oa11ed and the vote was as follows: Ayes-Egan, Gaines, Keene, Miller; Noes-Harper; Absent -none. So the Ordinance passed, title as stated, and was immediately oertified to the Mayor for his approval. BElT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCILOFTBE CITY OF CLERMONT: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of _Ordinance Number 48 of '/ the City of Clermont, passed and adopted by the City Council on June 2,4tb~, 1940. be and the same 1s hereby amended by adding to said Section 2. a new paragraph to read as follows. to~wit: That the following described terri_tory in the City of Clermont.. the South one-half' (Si> of Block 121; Lots 1. 3, 5. '1,..: 9.. 11, 13, and 15 to 20. both inclusive. of' Block 122; the East One-half (E~) of Lots 7 j 8 and 9,. Blo~k 141; and, th~ East One-half (Et) of Lots 1._ 2 and 3 of Blo~k 140 are hereby transferred from Zone R-2, Multiple Family Distract to Zone 0-2, Commercial District; and the property described as Lots 55 to 82. both inclusive. and Lot,s 84, 114 and 115 in the Unnumbered Blocks of Indlan Hills, a subdivision in the City of Clermont., are hereby transferred from Zone R-I, One (Single) Family District. to Zone C-2~ Commercial D1atri_ Allot the regulations with respect to the areas applictible to the new areas into which the sald property has been transferred shall continue and be in efreet as to ,the areas hereby changed., SECTION'2.
