President Keene announcoo tha.t the purpose of t}y.) meeting
was to adopt a budget for i-he coming fiscal year.
Attorney Morse had. prepared several copies of a tenative
budget for tho fiscal year Novomber 1, 1941 to October 31, 1942;
and tho Council ~xamined and discussed ~t thoroughly.
It was ~ovod and sefonded that tho CityC1erkls sa1~ry be
raised ~~15. 00 per month, begi~ing November 1, 1941. rJhon put
to a vote, the motion carried.
Hr. Hiller made a motien that any oxpendituros for the
City amounting to over ~~5.00, unless a1roady authorized at a
Council meeting, rust be approved by tho chairman of tho
committee of the Department for which the puchase is ~ to
bo mado; and for purchases less than $5.00, a requisition
l'!lUSt be obtained from tho City C1e rk; The motion was
seconde" by 1h'. Gaines, and when put to a vote, tho motion
carried.
lJr. Egan r:1arJe a motion that the rovised budget be 'r~
adopted, and that tho City Attorney draw up an Ordinance ~
to be aQopted at t~e regular.meeting,in October, setting I
the mi~lage for the 1941 taxes at 14tmi1ls for Debt Sorvice
a'd ~fii\r11s for gonera1 operating oxpense.. Tho motion was;V
seconded by f:Ir. Gaines, and when put to a vote, tho motion
carried. Acopy of the budget follows tho minutos of this
!:leoting.
Thero being no further business at this time, the
Council adjourned, to moet a t tl..,o call of t~e presidemt.
