11-23-1940 Special Meeting CITY OF CLERMONT ~ ..., Minutes of a special meeting of the City Council held on Saturday evening at 2:00 p. m. November 23, 1.940 at the City Hall. Presiden to. H. Keene c aIled the meeting to order with Councilmen R. V. Miller and R. M. Sta€kh.ouse present. Mayor Brovm, City Attorney Geo. F. Westbrook and Auditor W. F. Williams were also present. A motion was made by Mr. Stackhouse that the $5000.00 worth of old bonds bought by the City'for investment be destroyed; andthat the coupons be sold to'tax~payers for use in paying delinquent taxes and paving liens. The motion was seconded'by Mr. Miller and when put to a vote carried. A motion was made by Mr. Miller that old notes of T. L.Hendrix W. N. McKinney be charged off the ledger. Also that'the account of Ernest Sanders amounting to $10.00 be charged off the ledger. The motion was seconded by Mr. Stackhouse and when put to a vote, the motion carried. A motion.was made by ~. St.ackhouse that two bonds given Mrs. Worlonan through error bi charged to her. The motion was seconded by r. Miller and when put to a vote, carried. A motion was made by 11i' . Miller that the bill of C. R. Keene for $148.27 for painting the City Hall be paid. The motion was seconded by Mr. Stackhouse and When put to a vote, c arrled. A motion was made by Mr. Stackhouse that money for:'~ interest on new bonds be deposited in the bank for payment to coupon holders and notice put in the paper.that'they can get their money after December 15, 1940. The motion was seconded by Mr. Miller and when put to a vote, carried. This applies to coupons due January 1, 1941.
