09-03-1940 Regular Meeting CITY OF CLERMONT MTNlJPTE S OF THE REGUTJAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD AT THE CITY HALL, ~ruESDAY~ SEPTEME8R 3, 1940~ 7.30 P.M. The meeting was called to o~'der by president o.n.Keene, other Oouncilmen present being A.M.Johnson and R.L.Lassiter. Mayor H.r;.Brown, Marshall H.SoCleaver~ Tax Assessor ~"loM.Thomas~ Street & Water Supt. R.F.Anderson, and City Clerk R.F.House. Minutes of tbe meetings Aug 6th and 2Bth were read and approved. n~ .., Mr. Keane reported tnat two of the shuffleboards in Kehlor Park bad been completely rebuilt at a cost of approximately $100 each. Mavor %.G.Brown read his report, in which he emphasize~ the need of better oooervance of traffic rules. Marshal H.S.Cleaver's report was read. Hr. Johnson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Lasstter, that Marsml C1eaver be authorized to have signs painted to regula te pa rking \\The remJlfJ ne ces sary ~ particularly on Sixth Street... and around Kehlor Park. l.1lhen put to a vote, the motion c arriea. The daily reports of t~ Street and 'Wat er Supt. were submitted to the Council for examination. Er. Lassiter made a motinn that $700.00 be tranferred from the Special 2 mill levy of 1939 taxes fund, to the General Fund. Ii.Ir. NOTICE is further given that the City Council will meet at the City Hall on Friday ,September 13 ~ 1940, at 7:30 P.M., and will sit as an Eqalization Board, to hear and consider all com- plaints with reference to said Assesament Roll; and will make such corrections and adjutments as may be proper. At the conclu- sion of the said meeting, or some adjournment thereof, the Council will confirm and adopt said Assessment Roll, as Equalizwd and ad- justed, as the official Assessment Roll of the City of Clermont for 1940. The Preliminary Roll may be examined by any taxpayer at the of- fice of the City Clerk, during reasonable business hours of each business day prior to the meeting mentioned. All complaints and requests for equalization and adjustment are required to be in writing and filed with the City Clerk; but any taxpayer may be heard, either in person or by attorney, at the hearing.
